Dreadwing's Fate

A/N this chapter contains the first half of Regeneration episode.

Misty-blue's POV

So the kids are back and I am happy. I've missed playing with them. We told the about what's been going on since they were last here. About the omega keys and about the possibility of us reviving Cybertron. "You know, I might not be the first human on Cybertron, but I can still be the first human exchange student" Miko states. As each sit on uncle Bulk's shoulders.

"Why didn't you tell us about the Omega keys before?" Jack asks aunt Arcee.

"You probably didn't notice, but things have been kind of intense around here lately" she tells him.

"So, you guys could really be going home soon, huh?" Raf asks.

"Don't worry, Raf. You'll come visit!" Miko assures him. "Once we get our place set up, he can bunk with us, right, Bulk?" she asks uncle Bulk.

"Uh, Miko" he says sheepishly.

"You are taking me with you, right?" she asks him.

"Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves here? Not only do we lack any actual method of reaching Cybertron, but Starscream now controls the sole means of our planet's restoration" sire Ratchet reminds us.

"As far as we know" Optimus adds.

"You think Starscream's rejoined the Cons?" Smokescreen asks him.

"He might've used the Omega keys to buy back Megatron's favor" aunt Arcee suggests.

"Without first trying to sell them to the highest bidder?" sire Ratchet asks. "It wouldn't surprise me if he had the nerve to contact us and..." he starts to say. But is cut off by the computer beeping.

"Ok, that's weird" Uncle Bulk state.

"Is it Starscream?" Aunt Arcee asks.

"No. It is Dreadwing. And he wants to meet" Sire Ratchet states.

"Sire!" I cheer and fly over to the screen. "Can I please go sire Ratchet?" I ask pleadingly.

"He has asked that you not come" he tells me and I pout. "Don't worry, I am sure you'll see he again soon" he assures me. He opens a bridge for the others. They all go through and he closes it before I could try to follow.

Dreadwing's POV

I wanted for the autobots and they finally show up. I sigh, relieved that they didn't bring Misty-blue. It'd make leaving here to avenge my brother harder. "I am not here to fight, but to give you this" I tell the autobots. Gesturing to the Forge of Solus Prime, which I stole from the ship.

"The Forge of Solus Prime" Arcee states.

"Could be rigged to blow" Bulkhead tells the others.

"Dreadwing, what do you ask in return?" Optimus asks removing his battle mask.

"Only that you use it wisely" I tell him honestly. If I am to die today. The least I can do is help the autobots win this war. So that Misty-blue can have a peaceful life and grow up on Cybertron.

"And, the omega keys?" Arcee asks me.

"In Megatron's possession, under heaviest guard" I answer.

"Scream did make a deal with the Cons" Bulkhead states. Optimus lowers his weapons. Transforming his blasters back to servos. He asks me why?

"A shadow of disgrace has been cast upon the Decepticons. It is a cause I no longer wish to be part of" I tell him.

"Then I appeal to you again. Join us and help end this conflict once and for all. For Misty-blue" Optimus tells me. I close my optics, he had to mention her.

"Betraying my kind is not the same as accepting yours" I tell him. "Please continue to protect my daughter and tell her I love her. But there is something I must do and I may not be coming back" I state.

"Dreadwing, Chromia would want you to be with Misty-blue" Arcee tells me.

"Chromia would understand my feelings on this matter. Please tell Ratchet to take good care of Misty-blue in my absence" I tell them. Before leaving.

Misty-blue's POV

Sire Ratchet sent the kids to school by ground bridge and no long after, the others came back with the Forge of Solus Prime. Apparently sire gave it to them and no longer follows Megatron. But I don't understand why he isn't here. Doesn't he want to be with me? Doesn't he want to raise me? Why didn't he come back with Optimus and the others? "Megatron may be evil, but I believe he will use the keys for their intended purpose" I hear Optimus say when I tune back into the conversation.

"Then I say we let him keep them and do the work for us. I mean, what difference does it make who restores Cybertron?" Uncle Bulk asks.

"If Megatron revives Cybertron, he will no doubt use it to his political advantage" Optimus states.

"You lost me" Uncle Bulk says confused. I nod my head in agreement.

"In all likelihood, the leader of the Decepticons will portray himself as our planet's savior and brand all Autobots as war criminals" Optimus explains. "The grand deception continues" aunt Arcee adds.

"Megatron's so-called achievement could influence Cybertron for eons to come, poisoning the sparks and minds of its returning citizens hardly the ideal way to begin a new age" sire Ratchet states.

"But there is hope" Optimus tells us. "For while Megatron may have the keys, he has yet to discover the existence of the Omega lock itself" he states.

"Omega lock?" Uncle Bulk and I ask.

"Wait, now you lost me" Aunt Arcee tells Optimus.

"That which the four relics were designed to activate. We must locate the device before Megatron does, and secure it until we can recover the keys" Optimus explains.

"There are no more Iacon entries to decode. This lock could be anywhere on Earth" sire Ratchet tells him.

"Actually it is on Cybertron" Optimus tells us.

"What?" we all ask shocked.

"How do you know?" sire Ratchet asks him.

"Alpha Trion revealed its location to me during the message conveyed by the Star Saber" Optimus answers.

"And you didn't think to tell us?" sire Ratchet asks him.

"Alpha Trion did not wish it so" Optimus tells him. "With the Forge of Solus Prime, we now possess the means of reaching Cybertron. I must work quickly, as our tactical advantage over Megatron will not last long" he states. He gets to work hammering the ground bridge.

(Nemesis) Dreadwing's POV

It is time to avenge my brother and restore the honour he lost when Starscream resurrected him. I head for the medical bay. Knowing Starscream would be there getting a new T-cog put in by Knockout. In fact, he may already have one. Which will make this a fair fight.

"Dreadwing, I have been searching for you" Lord Megatron states.

"I am at your service, Lord Megatron" I tell him.

"I recognize that Starscream's return to our ranks may be difficult for you, given the loss of your twin under his command. But your cooperation is essential. We Decepticons will be best-equipped to rule a restored Cybertron only if we are united" he tells me.

"Understood" I tell him. "And if it pleases you, master, I intend to reach out to our comrade personally" I state.

"That would be good" Megatron states. I bow and go to leave. "Oh and one more thing Dreadwing" he says and I pauses. "Come to the bridge afterwards, there is something important you and I must discuss" he states.

"Of course, Lord Megatron" I assure him. He leaves and I frown. I wonder what he wishes to discuss? No matter, I must kill Starscream. I continue on my way to the Med-bay. I arrive to see Starscream is awake.

"Finally. I can't wait to take flight and soar above the clouds" he tells Knockout.

"Starscream" I say gaining both their attention. "I regret to inform you that you will not live to spread your wings ever again" I tell him. Drawing my cannon and fire at him. He dodges it and I step farther into the room. Ignoring Knockout as he passes me.

"Knockout, help me!" Starscream shouts. But Knockout runs away. Good, no witnesses. I drop my cannon and draw my sword instead. Starscream grabs a surgical drill. "Dreadwing, what has gotten into you?" he asks me. Knock the drill from his servo with my sword. "Wait. This is about Skyquake, isn't it? I thought we had put that behind us!" he exclaims as he backs away from  me.

"So had I!" I snap and swing at him. He ducks avoiding my sword.

"Casualties are an unfortunate consequence of war! But I assure you, your twin met his end with great honor!" he yells.

"Which you disgraced by raising him from the dead!" I shout.

"Oh, you know about that" he says sheepishly. "There must be something I can do, some form of reparation I can offer to alleviate your anguish!" he begs.

"Your spark will suffice" I sneer.

"Dreadwing!" Megatron shouts. As he appears with Knockout, curse you Knockout. "Stand down" he orders me.

"This desecrator must pay for his actions" I tell him.

"You call this loyalty, master?!" Starscream asks Megatron.

"I said stand down! That is an order" Megatron tells me.

"One which I cannot follow" I tell him and go to kill Starscream. When Megatron shots me in the back. I gasp as I drop my sword and fall to the ground. My world going dark around me.

Third Persons POV

"I'm okay? I'm okay! Lord Megatron, you have my eternal thanks" Starscream says bowing to Megatron.

"Do not ever make me regret which one of you I spared" Megatron sneers. "Dispose of Dreadwing's body" he orders and leaves. Starscream has Soundwave dump Dreadwing's body in a junkyard, not knowing he still lives. Barely clinging to life. As he sends a distress signal to the comm-link channel Optimus had given him. Before falling into stasis.

(Autobot base)

Misty-blue has a horrible feeling, like something terrible ha happened to her sire. She prays, she is wrong. Anyway, Optimus has finished turning the ground bridge into a space bridge. Though he tested it by traveling somewhere on Earth. Apparently, he'd received some sort of signal. Though he didn't tell any of us from what or who he received the signal from. Optimus assured us he'd be back shortly and then he and the others will be going to Cybertron. After the Omega keys.
