Sparkling

(Autobots Base) Third Persons POV

"Bumblebee you are still recovering after having major surgery, you should take it easy" Ratchet tells the young autobot scout. Raf and the other kids are at school. Arcee and Optimus are discussing the latest decepticon activity. Bulkhead is on a recon mission. Leaving Bee with Ratchet. Bumblebee wants to go for a drive and Ratchet is against it.

'But Ratchet, I've been stuck here all week' Bee whines back. 'A slow drive around Jasper will not hurt me' he beeps.

"I'd feel better if Arcee or Optimus went with you" Ratchet states and Bee whines in annoyance. As Optimus and Arcee join them.

"What are you two arguing about?" Optimus asks them.

'He will not let me go for a drive alone' Bee whines.

"Because he is still recovering from major surgery. Dropping the kids off and picking them up with the other two is one thing. But going on a drive alone is another" Ratchet states.

"I can go with, I need to clear my head anyway" Arcee offers.

'I am not a sparkling' Bee beeps at them.

"We know that Bumblebee, I promise you can go on the next recon mission alone" Optimus tells him. Bee cheers happily and transforms into his alto-mode. Arcee does the same and they drive out of the base.

"So where too?" she asks him.

'Nowhere, just a drive' Bee buzzes back. 'Race to Jasper?' he asks and Arcee agrees. They pick up speed heading for Jasper. When a meteor strikes across the sky. Both break and watch it.

"Ratchet, meteor in coming. Can you pin point the landing coordinates?" Arcee asks him over the commlink.

"That is no Meteor" Ratchet says as he zooms in on the image. "It's a cybertronian Pod, the landing coordinates are ten clicks south of your position. Get there quickly before the Decepticons find out about it" he tells them. "Optimus and Bulkhead will join you at the crash site" he adds.

Arcee and Bumblebee speed off towards the crash site. They arrive just after the pod landed. 'Ours or theirs?' Bee asks Arcee. As she examines it.

"No symbol, bests be on guard" she states. They transform their arms into blasters. As a ground bridge appears. Optimus and Bulkhead exit it.

"Any signs of the Decepticons?" Optimus asks.

"No, looks like we got here first" Arcee tells him.

"Is that so two wheeler?" Knockout asks. Half a dozen Vehicons start to attack them and the autobots take cover.

"We must not let anything happen to the pod or let it fall into Decepticon hands" Optimus tells the others. They nod their heads and go on the offensive. Knockout watches letting the vehicons handle the battle. Not wanting to ruin his paint job.

The Autobots manage to defeat the cons. "One way or another, we will have the contents of that pod" Knockout tells them. Before transforming and driving away. Bumblebee goes to follow.

"Leave him, we must get the pod back to base" Optimus tells him. Bee whines, but nods his head. "Any damage?" he asks Arcee as she scanned the pod.

"None and there is a life-form inside. But I think my scanner is faulty. Best let Ratchet examine it before we open it" Arcee tells him.

"Understood, Ratchet we need a ground bridge and prepare medical bay" Optimus orders. Ratchet confirms and opens a ground bridge. Arcee and Bumblebee guide the pod through the bridge. While Optimus and Bulkhead covered their backs. Encase the Decepticons came back.

They arrived back at base and the ground bridge closed behind them. Ratchet took the pod to the medical bay. While it was time for the children to be picked up. So Bulkhead, Bumblebee and Arcee left to go collect them. Promising to be back soon.

"So any idea how long it's been up there?" Optimus asks Ratchet.

"I'd say since Cybertronian died. It's one of the newer models and appears to of been programmed to come here. But only had sub-lights. The occupate has been in status the whole time, the pod on automatic" Ratchet explains.

"Strange, any idea who programed it?" Optimus asks him.

"We won't know until we open it" Ratchet tells him. "The occupate appears to be healthy, but something is odd" he states.

"What do you mean? Arcee said she thought her scanner was faulty. But did not say way" Optimus tells him.

"I can see why, my scanner says the occupate is a Sparkling" Ratchet tells him. Optimus looks at him surprised. Neither of them noticing the others had returned with the children. Optimus thought any sparkling that survived the war, would be adults now.

"What's a sparkling?" Miko asks. Optimus and Ratchet turn to see the others had returned with their human charges. All the kids looking curious.

"They are cybertronian children" Optimus answers.

"So a child is in that pod?" Raf asks.

"Sweet, lets open it" Miko says excitedly.

"Where are it's parents?" Jack asks confused.

"The sire and carrier weren't present at the landing zone and there are no other pods in this solar system" Ratchet states.

"Then we must take care of the Sparkling and raise it ourselves. Until it's creators arrive or it becomes an adult" Optimus states.

"We must make sure the cons never find out about the Sparkling. Otherwise they may try to take it for themselves" Arcee states. The others nod their helms in agreement.

"Who will be the main guardian?" Bulkhead asks.

"We'll all help raise it, but Ratchet shall be en-charge of it's up bringing" Optimus states.

"Optimus, I have no time to be caring for a sparkling" Ratchet tells him.

"It's decide, now open the pod" Optimus tells him firmly. Ratchet groans and opens the pod. Revealing the young blue green femme seeker inside.

"Does she have a name?" Raf asks Ratchet.

"Is she a decepticon?" Jack asks.

"She is neither Autobot or decepticon. She is a neutral and will remain one until she is old enough for battle. It says her name is Misty-blue on the system" Ratchet states as the sparking seeker opens her blue optics. She looks into Rachet's optics before looking around confused sitting up slowly.

"Can you understand us young one?" Optimus asks. She looks up at him and nods her helm (head).

"Can you stand?" Ratchet asks. She looks at her pedes (feet) and gets out of the pod slowly. Using her servo (hand) to brace herself against the wall. She stands up to her full height of 9 feet and three inches (2.8 meters).

"Can you speak?" Bulkhead asks. She looks at him confused.

"She had been in status since her creation. It may take her time to learn to communicate and function" Ratchet states.

"Who would send one so young here alone?" Arcee asks confused.

"Obliviously they hoped she'd be safe here from the war" Bulkhead states.

"Hey Misty-Blue" Miko says and the sparkling looks at her. Miko snaps a picture scaring the child. Who flow to hide behind Ratchet clinging to him.

"Miko, you scared her" Jack accuses.

"She has never seen a human before" Arcee tells them.

"I think it best the children return to their homes for the night" Optimus states. Miko whines. But they leave with their guardians. "She already sees you as a protector, you will be her guardian Ratchet" he tells the medic.

"Fine" Ratchet grumbles. Optimus leaves the pair alone to go write a report. Ratchet picks up the sparkling and places her on a platform. Handing her an energon cube. "Drink and stay" he tells her before going back to his work decoding the ancient database. Misty-blue drinks her energon watching Ratchet work learning quickly.

(Decepticon base)

"You failed to acquire the pod?!" Megatron demands angry.

"The Autobots were already there and took out all the troops. I assure you we will retrieve what was in the pod from them soon" Knockout assures him.

"Get out of my sight" Megatron orders. Knockout hurries away, glad Megatron didn't take his anger out of him. He returns to his medbay and decides to buff himself.
