Chapter VIII~ Rememberance
12:19, 10 January 2016(No More Dreamland!!)Your POV
I awoke from my dream, panting. I didn't notice the person sitting next to me with a stunned look on his face.
"(Y-Y/n)? You're awake?"
I turned my head to face Levi, holding my slightly sweaty hand. As soon as I saw him, I started to cry. I let go of his hand and pulled him close to me. He sat there, shocked, but I couldn't let go because of what I had just seen in my dream. He hesitantly hugged me back, but softly pushed me back to be able to wipe my tears with his thumb.
"L-Levi... I remember you."
Levi looked at me with concern.
"What do you mean? Did you forget me?"
"Yeah. I don't blame you if you don't remember me. I did give you a fake name, heh heh." I tried to smile. He gave me a questioning face.
I looked around the room and noticed that I was back in our room. I dug around in my back pocket, I had always kept a weird journal in there, but I never had a chance to look at it, for I had to run a lot from the Military Police and had to keep up my guard. Reading would only lower my guard. I looked up to Levi with sad eyes and asked him.
"So, where are Farlan and Isabelle?"
He looked at me, shocked that I knew those names. He soon snapped out of it and looked down at the ground.
"They're gone, died a few years ago."
The room was empty until I started sniffling from the tears flowing down my face. I looked at him, then at the small notebook in my hands.
"Give me your hands."
He looked up and hesitantly held out his hands. I gently set the small notebook in his hands, remembering what the picture had said on the back. Levi looked at the notebook, then to me.
"Read it. But first, I would like you to read the back of a photo I found. It should be between one of the book's pages."
He flipped through the pages and soon enough, one flew out. It landed on the ground, full of grace. The picture side was facing up. It only took him a second to quickly grab the photo and examine it and tear up, just the slightest bit. He flipped it on the back and read.
"Thank you. I don't know how you got this, but thank you for giving it to me. This- this means a lot."
He looked at the journal in front of him and noticed another piece of paper sticking out.
"What's this?"
He pulled out the photo and looked at it in awe. That's when he started tearing up even more, even more than when he read the back of the first photo. I didn't know what he was looking at, so I made it to where I could see the picture. When I noticed what the photo was, I smiled. All Levi did was just stare at it. It was a picture of me, leaning on Levi's shoulder with a wide grin and and him with a smirk. I actually remembered when we took that. Farlan took it for us while Isabelle was standing beside him, making sure he knew what he was doing.
I sat back and giggled at the memory.
"Hey Levi?"
"Mm?"
"Um, how do I say this? I'm- I'm R-Riley...."
He quickly looked up at me with even more tears in his eyes, yet none had dared to drop. He quickly wrapped his arms around me, wide eyed that it was actually me.
"R-Riley? That- that's actually you?"
I hugged back.
"Y-yeah." He squeezed even tighter now and had a tighter grip on me when I confirmed that it was me. I felt my shoulder become slightly wet. He was crying. He couldn't hold it back anymore.
"I missed you so much"
"I missed you too, Levi."
Suddenly, he pushed me back and pulled me forward into a hard, but passionate kiss. I widened my eyes in surprise, but started to kiss back. We would've stayed like that forever, but we had to break the kiss from the lack of air. He looked into my (e/c) eyes with his steel gray ones.
"Don't ever leave me again."
I looked at him and giggled at his seriousness.
"Uhm, I thought you were the one who left me?" I gave him a slight smirk as he gave me a 'tch'. His lips started forming a smirk which caused me to shudder because of how creepy he looked with that evil aura surrounding him.
"I guess I can never leave your side then..."
I gulped, stood up from the bed, and started to sprint out of the room. I could hear footsteps trailing behind me. As I turned the corner, I ran into another person, causing me to stumble on top of them. I looked at them, not realizing that I was straddling them. I looked at the familiar face, which was facing to the side, blushing, trying not to think about the position we were in.
"Ah-ah... Commander! I-I'm sorry! I didn't see you there, um sir!" He looked back up to me and smiled, still with a tint of pink on his face.
"Ah, no need to be sorry. I should've known to move, for I had heard the sound of footsteps running towards the corner."
Suddenly I felt a hand grasp my arm right below my shoulder and lift me up from on top of the commander. I was confused about the sudden movement until I finally realized what had happened and how I was straddling the commander. I blushed furiously. The commander stood up and looked at the person who had helped me up.
"Thank you, but I had it handled. Dismissed."
I looked at Commander Erwin and saw him give me a slight smile with pink cheeks. I tried smiling back, but I couldn't, I was still shocked and frozen over what had just happened. Commander started then walking away from us.
"Tch. Great..." I turned my head towards the sound. Levi.
"What?"
"Nothing. C'mon. Let's go get breakfast." He grabbed my hand and started leading me down the hallway towards the mess hall.
Once we walked into the mess hall, all eyes were locked on us. The boys, as usual, were drooling over you. You knew what was happening and turned away from the unfamiliar faces. Levi could sense my troubles and looked at me sympathetically. He made us tea and lead me over to a table where what looked like the superiors ate.
"Sit." I quickly sat down and noticed someone smelling me. I looked at them with disgust written all over my face.
"Oh, Don't mind him! That's Mike! That's how he gets to know you!" A girl with her hair tied up and glasses said.
"He... Smells me? Is he a dog of some sort?"
"Tch, shut up, Shitty-glasses."
"Yes sir, captain Shorty, sir!"
I giggled at her comment which costed me a cold glare from Levi.
"So, Levi. Is this your little girlfriend?" She wriggled her eyebrows at me, expecting me to answer instead of Levi.
"No, not re-"
"Yes. She is." He sipped his tea and kept eye contact with 'Shitty-glasses'.
"Oooh.... Mr and Mrs Shorty sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
"Oi!? Are you looking for a fight shit face!?"
"'Shit face'? That's a new one. So you guys already kissed huh?"
"Oh, Hanji. Just leave them alone. I'm sure they want their own privacy." A girl with a short bob hair cut said.
Levi and I finally finished our tea and just as I was about to put the cups away, Levi grabs my arm and leads me out of the mess hall.
"Ow, Levi! This hurts! Let go!" Levi starts to loosen his grip, stops in his tracks, and turns around.
"I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose you again. And I most definitely do not want any of those perv guys taking you away or even looking at you. You're mine." He hangs his head in embarrassment and sadness.
"Levi, you're not going to lose me. The only thing you should be worrying about is you having to stay with me and deal with my annoying voice." I giggle at him. He looks up at me with a smile and gives my hand a slight squeeze.
"Your voice isn't annoying. I actually kinda like it..." The last part he kinda mumbled, but I could still understand it. Just as we were about to walk away, Commander came up to us.
"Corporal, I need you to go get ready for practice."
"Tch, yes sir." And with that, he let go of my hand and walked away in annoyance. I stood there watching him walk away until I couldn't see him anymore. Suddenly I felt a pair of lips on mine. I kissed back instinctively, but once I realized what I was doing I pushed whoever it was, back.
"C-commander?"
"Sorry. Just felt the need to do that. Besides, you deserve someone better than that short thing over there. You deserve a man. Not a boy."
I looked at him shocked, but still thinking to myself, 'He is a grown man and you're still calling him a boy just because of his height?'
Commander looked at me questioningly.
"My? What's wrong?"
"N-nothing, sir."
"Hm... Okay. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here and my door is always open. Well, not literally, but you get what I mean. Dismissed."
"Yes, sir." I immediately left and went back to the room I was staying in with Levi.
