Extra: Lan Xichen's Problem

"Uncle." Lan Wangji called before Lan Qiren could leave. "Is something wrong with brother?" he asked.

Lan Qiren paused. "'something wrong'? What do you mean?" he asked.

"Brother called us here but didn't tell us what it is about." Lan Wangji honestly answered. If it was for bonding as brothers, then Lan Xichen didn't need to be this strange. "So, I am asking if uncle knows something." He said.

Lan Qiren fell silent. Lan Wangji froze while Wei Wuxian's brows knitted. So, there is really something wrong with Lan Xichen?! Lan Wangji is worried, and so is Wei Wuxian. After all, Lan Xichen is now Jiang Cheng's husband. If something happened to Lan Xichen...

"It is not what you think." Lan Qiren spoke when he saw the expression on their faces. He sighed, then pulled on his beard as he carefully considered his words. But after a few minutes, he still doesn't know how to say it. "Anyway, just... go and see him." He said and then left.

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian looked at each other with puzzled gazes. However, since even Lan Qiren didn't tell them...

"Could it be... your brother is ill?" Wei Wuxian asked as they went their way to Lan Xichen.

Lan Wangji, who is feeling worried, too, shook his head. "Brother has always been healthy, so..." he muttered, but now felt uncertain. After all, Lan Xichen had been injured before, so they might have overlooked something when treating Lan Xichen's injuries.

"Then... was he in debt?" Wei Wuxian asked again.

"... brother has his savings, so it can't be." Lan Wangji answered.

"Then, it can't be... he has an illegitimate son?!" Wei Wuxian frowned.

Lan Wangji's brow twitched. "Brother wouldn't that be irresponsible." He said.

Wei Wuxian also knows this is the case, so he sighed.

"What could it be...?" they wondered.
