Nickname

(A/N: I like TS's songs, but not too much until my elder sis had her wedding last year and I became (not too much) Swiftie. Anyway, here's the chapter!)

Cloud Recesses, Gusu, at present.

"Ah...!" Lan Xichen covered his now reddened face with both of his hands. He felt extremely embarrassed, especially in front of Lan Wangji. It was me who suggested to call each other by our other names, so why am I the one feeling flustered now?! Lan Xichen thought as his face turned redder again. His ears also looked like they were going to drip blood. No... in the first place, why would I feel flustered?! He shook his head and closed his eyes, feeling like he couldn't show his face to Jiang Cheng again. I was just called 'h-husband'... He thought, then his face turned redder. It was so hot that Lan Wangji felt he could fry an egg on it.

But of course, this is his elder brother, who Lan Wangji respected a lot. So, even if his elder brother is acting as if a maiden... ehem, a gentleman in love, Lan Wangji has to help him.

Anyway, he now found out the reason why his elder brother is acting as such. "..." oh. He thought. His expression looked blank, as usual. So, brother was embarrassed to see Jiang Wanyin because he (LXC) felt flustered with their new agreement that is why brother did not accompany Jiang Wanyin. He thought, now understanding the cause and effects. Looking at his elder brother's bashful face makes him feel unnerved. Should I say something or not? He hesitated. But, he still decided to help. "Brother." He called. His voice pulled Lan Xichen from his thoughts.

"What is it, Wangji?" Lan Xichen asked.

"Is it that hard for you to face Jiang Wanyin?" Lan Wangji asked.

Hearing the name, Lan Xichen's face which the color returned to normal turned red again. "This - " he muttered and paused. He doesn't know why he is reacting this way. But, as he thinks about it, maybe it is because thiswas the first time Lan Xichen was addressed by such an intimate title.

"Then, brother... you have to overcome this." he told Lan Xichen. Yes, overcome your embarrassment and accompany Jiang Wanyin so that Wei Ying doesn't need to go to see Jiang Wanyin! He thought and inwardly sighed.

After all, Jiang Cheng is now Lan Xichen's wife.

Lan Xichen heard what Lan Wangji said and he calmed himself. "Yes, you are right, Wangji." he agreed and took a deep breath. "I can't hide from Wanyin always, so I'd better see him now than see him later," he said.

... 'Wanyin'? Lan Wangji thought, feeling surprised that his elder brother could adapt to the change this fast. Brother... is so flexible. He thought, trying to avoid the word 'shameless' to associate with his elder brother. After all, this is an agreement between Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng, and Lan Xichen has to overcome his embarrassment by calling nicknames between husbands.

Speaking of nicknames - "Right." Lan Wangji muttered when he recalled something. "I don't feel embarrassed when Wei Ying calls me 'husband' because I like him." He said. A lot. I like Wei Ying a lot. I love him. He thought and a smile appeared on his lips when he remembered Wei Wuxian. "But brother doesn't like Jiang Wanyin, right?" he looked at Lan Xichen. "As you like Lianfang-zun." He said.

Lan Xichen was about to agree to the first half when he suddenly heard the second half of what Lan Wangji said. He froze. I... don't like... Wanyin. He thought. I like ah Yao... right? He lowered his gaze. Suddenly, he felt his mind became blank and his heart... uncomfortable.
