Boundaries
04:07, 5 August 2024Draco went back to my room, I picked my book back up and moved to lay on Draco's lay. He kindly welcomed me, and with one hand held his book and with the other fiddled with my hair.
"It's hard to read when you are coaxing me to sleep." I looked up at him.
Draco looked down with a soft smile. "It least I have some power over you." I rolled my eyes and looked back to my book. "Solace." Draco said softly, I looked back up to him. "Please don't do anything like that again." He brushed his thumb over my cheek.
I frowned. "I was being careful... I'm sorry if I scared you." Draco nodded slowly, I sighed. "I'll be more careful. But you know how I am."
"I know exactly how you are and they makes me scared. What if I can't protect you?"
"If I can't protect myself from being a stubborn wild lips then that is not your fault." Draco frowned, I grabbed his hand. "I'll be more careful."
Draco brought my hand to his lips. "Promise me."
I nodded slowly. "I promise to be more careful." Draco kissed my hand. "But you must know that I know how to act. I've done it all my life. I know how these people work."
"These aren't muggles, Solace. They won't beat you if you say something they don't like, they'll torture you."
"I know. But they are still assholes and I know how-." A knock came to the door, I sighed. "I'll get it this time." I got up from the couch and walked over to the door. "Yes?" I opened it.
Lucius stood there. "I need to speak with my son." I eyed him. "Now, Solace."
"I'm here father." Draco came behind me, Lucius looked at him. "What do you need?"
Lucius looked from Draco to me then back to Draco. "Alone."
Draco nodded. "I'll be back, Solace." Draco moved passed me and into the hall.
"Lucius." They both looked at me, I looked at Lucius. "Loving can cost a lot but not loving always costs more, and those who fear to love often find that want of love is an emptiness that robs the joy from life." I smiled. "He's your son. Have a good chat." I closed the door and took a deep breath.
(Damn... He's going to be my father in law... But I guess my own father is bad... I have no room to talk.)
I moved back to the couch, picked up my book, and laid down in from of the fire to continued learning more about Legilimancy. (These books are getting older and older...)
.When my reading brain clicked back to reality the once lit room from the window became a room dimly lit by only the fireplace. (Where's Draco?)
I left my book open on the ground and stood up. I went to the door and walked out, down the hall and knocked on Draco's door.....
I knocked again. "Draco?" (Where is he?)I walked to Narcissa door and knocked. "It's Solace." The door opened, Lucius looked at me with distaste. "Where's Draco?"
Lucius raised a brow. "Have you tried the sitting room before you interrupted me?"
"No."
"Well maybe next time use your common sense." He shut the door.
(Asshole.)I walked to the stairs and down to the first floor, then to the sitting room. Draco was sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace next to his mother.
Both of them seemed to be just staring off into the flames but I could see the slight movements of Narcissa lips as she patted the top of Dracos hand softly. (What happened?)
I walked into the room slowly, Narcissa saw me and turned to Draco to whisper something before standing up and walking past me and out the door.
Draco stayed seated, I walked over and sat down next to him. "I'm sorry if I interrupted." Draco gently took my hand and linked our fingers, I eyed him. "Is everything alright?"
Draco's eyes moved to look at me then back at the fire. "Yes." I kept looking at him, his head lowered. "Just this once Solace. Please don't ask or read my mind."
"Alright." I squeezed his hand. "Did you want to head to bed?" Draco looked at the fire, I grabbed one of the soft pillows and put it on my lap. "Come here."
Draco looked down at the pillow then laid his head down and put his legs up on the couch. I started to run my fingers through his hair and when I find a nice bundle of his medium length hair I would try and braid it as best as I could.
Draco's eyes watched the fire in thought, I watched the fires light shine in his eyes as they slowly closed and he fell asleep.
A smile made its way on my face as I watched his face soften into calmness. I grabbed the small throw blanket from the arm of the couch and draped it over him as best I could. My head rested back onto the top of the couch, my eyes pointed to the chandelier and closed as my fingers kept fiddling with his hair. --------------
I woke up from a clunk near me, I opened my eyes and saw the Malfoys new house elf. "My apologies, Miss Solace."
"It's alright." I sat up, the throw blanket fell of my shoulder. "Where's Draco?"
The Elf turned to me. "Young master and the lady of the house have gone out, Miss Solace."
(They went out?)I nodded. "Thank you, Balin." Balin nodded and went back to work.
I stood up and walked back to my room and started to warm the shower water up.(I wonder where they went... What did they talk about last night?)
I shook my head. "Draco told me to give him privacy so I will." I stripped out of my clothes and stepped into the shower.
(I how they are alright. What if Voldemort gave them another task... I dont care what he does as long as it's safe.. I know how he gets when he has to much pressure.. Does his mom know about his panic attacks? What if she doesn't... But she is his mom.... Draco's Fine!)
I washed myself then moved out with a towel and use my wand to dry myself, I plucked the few eyebrow hairs out of place, brushed my teeth then hair and then used my wand to dry my hair and brushed it again.
(There.... beautiful..) I turned my head to see a side profile then walked out in a dampened mood.
I spotted my book that was on the ground in front of the fireplace last night on the small table beside the couch. (I guess Balin has already been here to clean.)
I picked up the book and moved to my bed, which was a stupid idea because words after words mixed with the comfort and warmth of a bed made me sleepy.
.I closed the book and scooted it away the put my hands under my head and closed my eyes.
I heard my door open and closed.
I inched my eyes open and saw Draco take off his suit jacket and walk over to me. He picked up the book and put it on the nightstand before lifting the blankets and climbing into bed with me.
Draco slid his arm under my head and pulled me to his chest. "I'm sorry if I woke you."
I wrapped my arm around his waist. "I was just resting my eyes from reading." Draco relaxed while holding me and I relaxed in his embrace. "Is everything alright? You went out with your mom after you had a conversation last night."
"Solace." Draco sighed.
"I can keep boundaries... I just want to know if your alright." I looked up at him.
Draco closed his eyes. "Please. Just this once don't look."
"Draco." I took his hand and brought it to my face to feel the blindfold, his fingers brushed against it and his eyes opened. "You told me last night not to pry. I won't but with what happened a week ago and then last night I want to make sure you are safe."
Draco kissed my forehead. "I'm fine. It's just something my mother is helping me plan." He brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "I'll tell you soon. But for now just let it be a surprise."
I lowered my gaze and focused on holding him. "Alright. As long as you as safe." I closed my eyes. "I think I read myself to sleep."
Draco chuckled under his breath. "Finally after all these years." I smiled tiredly. "Thank you for last night."
"Mm... Anytime." Draco fiddled with my fingers that rested on his chest.
