Infirmary
04:07, 5 August 2024I felt an arm on my waist as I woke up, someone's breath fanning the top of my head. The arm on my waist pulled me closer and my eyes opened to Draco's chest.
I looked up at his tired eyes. "Are you alright?"
Draco looked down at me. "I'm fine."
I brushed my fingers along his forehead to move hair. "You scared me." I pressed my lips together. "You scared me."
Draco's kissed my forehead. "I'm sorry." I buried my face in his chest. "You stayed with me."
I nodded. "I didn't want to leave." I sniffled and and sat up. "I went back to the room." I turned to the nightstand and picked up the bag. "I brought your toothbrush and toothpaste." I handed it to him. "Your comb is in there too and there is a suit handing off the foot of the bed if you wanted to change."
Draco looked at me as he took the bag. "Do you have your blindfold on?"
"Yea." Draco dropped the bag and reached up to pull it off. "Wait." He stopped, I crawled back under the blankets and into his arms. "Alright."
Draco laid down and pulled the blindfold off, I frowned as I read the sad memories. "You never have to be alone again alright?... I'm not going to leave you alone when you need someone."
Draco's brows furrowed in sadness and pulled me into his chest. "Why was I such an arrogant ass to you for all those years. I hate myself for what I did to you."
(Steppingstones of life.)"I don't." Draco pulled away and looked at me confused. "Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place." Draco's eyes softened, I smiled softly. "Everything that you go through prepares you for the next level. I just had to go through a lot of levels of your attitude to finally see you aren't such a bigoted git after all."
Draco kissed my forehead. "I love you."
I smiled. "I love you too." I leaned back into his chest and cuddled with him. "Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yes." Draco held me in his embrace. "I'm fine." I hummed. "I want to get this over with."
I looked up at him, he looked into my eyes. "I know." Draco leaned down and brushed his nose against mine. "But I'm not allowing you to get out of this bed." I kissed him.
Draco broke the kiss. "Solace. I have to-."
"I'll do it." Draco's mind calmed, I smiled softly. "You rest and I'll work on the cabinet."
"You don't have to. It's my burden, my job and responsibility."
"And you're mine. I'm yours as well. We are each other's and we are there for one another... You almost died, Draco." Draco's eyes saddened by the crack in my voice. "Let me fix the cabinet while you rest for one night here. Please."
Draco sighed. "Alright." He relaxed into the bed. "I saw you with Nott this morning." I verbally scowled, Draco chuckled. "That bad?"
"As soon as he sees me without you he thinks I'm a free person. It's annoying. I had to remind him of the threat I made last year."
"I'll talk to him."
"No, you'd probably kill him if you did that." I scoffed. "If it comes to it I'll tell Snape that he's harassing me."
"Remind me to never mess with you." Draco chuckled, I tsked, Draco fiddled with my feathers. "... Do you... ever, think about other men... in that sense?"
I looked up at him, he looked at me but I couldn't read him. "I think you are the only man I ever thought about in this way." Draco nodded, I smiled softly. "Don't worry. I'm pretty sure you gave me a love potion of some sort." Draco smiled. "No way I'm thinking of anyone but you."
"I'm sure people think I gave you one."
"Most likely." Draco looked behind me and his smile fell, my smile fell. "What is it?"
Draco looked down at me. "Granger is here." I sat up and turned to see Mione at the door, I looked back at Draco. "Go on." He grumbled. "She's most likely here to apologize instead of Potter." Draco sat up and leaned against the headboard.
I leaned in and gave him a kiss. "If you want me to stay you better treat my only best friend nicely." I climbed off the bed. "Stay here."
Draco rolled his eyes. "I can't go anywhere."
I smiled and turned to Mione then walked over to her. "Hey." I put my hands in my pockets.
Mione looked behind me at Draco. "How's Malfoy?"
I glanced back then looked at Mione. "Thankfully I knew the counter spell. Snape came and hurried him here. He's fine."
Mione frowned. "Liv. Harry feels-."
"Don't." I closed my eyes. "Don't tell me what Harry feels." I opened my eyes again. "If Harry cared he would come and apologize."
"Malfoy attacked him first."
"I know. I was there to witness it all." I huffed, Mione looked to the ground. "Did Harry say how he walked into the bathroom with his wand drawn? Harry also cast the last spell might I add. Draco could have died."
Mione looked back up to me. "Are you alright?"
I nodded slowly. "I'm fine. It scared me."
"I'm sorry, Liv."
"It wasn't your doing."
"Liv. What's going on?" Mione looked me dead in the eye. "You said you would be on our side and I believe you... But everything that's happened..."
"I know." I sighed. "You just have to keep trusting and believing me. If there is something I see that will end up hurting someone and I can't do anything I will tell you or Sirius."
Mione huffed softly. "What about Katie and Ron?"
I frowned. "I didn't see Katie and Ron was never supposed to get hurt. None of them were."
"It's Dumbledore isn't it?" Mione whispered and stepped closer. "Draco's trying to kill Dumbledore."
"Everyone who is involved already knows." Miones brows furrowed, I sighed. "Mione. I promise I am on your side but this is a game of life or death." I stepped back. "We aren't playing a child's game anymore."
"Liv. I don't understand." She begged me to tell her with her eyes.
My eyes softened. "Mione... You've attended Hogwarts for years. When has Dumbledore been blind to what happens in his own castle?"
Miones brows furrowed. "Are you saying Dimbledore knows?"
I backed away. "Your smart." I lifted my hand and wiggled my fingers. "Look closer." I turned to Draco and walked to him.
Draco lifted the covers as I came to his side and I moved back into the warmth of the bed. "How was it?"
I shrugged and went back to cuddling i to his chest. "It was fine. I dont know." I wrapped my arm around his waist. "I just wish we could go back to..." I frowned.
"What is it?" Draco brushed my hair off my cheek.
"I dont know when I want to go back to. First year I was sheltered. Second year I lost my memories then was petrified. Third year..."
Draco frowned. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done what I did."
I nodded. "I know.... Every year there is a bad thing after the other. Dementors, trapped in a chest, words carved into my skin, learning who my father is, expelled, Bellatrix... it's all..." I sighed and fiddle with Draco's fingers. "My life is cursed and now all I have is you because I pushed everyone away."
"You can talk to them. You don't have to push them away." Draco said softly.
I looked from his eyes to his hand. "If I was just a normal girlfriend who didn't work with You-Know-Who would you push me away?" I looked back at him. "Or risk him using me as a weakness?"
"Solace..." Draco sighed. "... I dont know. I wouldn't want to push you away. But if it kept you safe to be away from me then I would."
I nodded. "Than you should understand. Everyone close to me is a weakness. Especially if they are muggle-born or blood-traitors which most of them are."
Draco kissed my forehead. "Someday, if He is finally gone... I'll be here to make your life the happiest it's ever been for the longest. You're life won't feel cursed anymore."
I smiled softly. "And I'll be here to make your life full of love." Draco smiled lovingly. "I should go work on the cabinet."
"Oh, yea... I put the second bird in.. I just.. When you get there."
I nodded and kissed his lips. "I saw your memories. I know what to do." Draco nodded. "I'll come back at a reasonable time unlike someone."
Draco smiled slightly. "Thank you."
I nodded and moved out of his warm embrace. "Don't do anything crazy while I'm gone."
"Of course." Draco pulled the blankets over him. "You know I'm feeling fine right? I can go instead of you."
I leaned down and kissed him. "I know. But I want you to rest and de-stress." Draco nodded, I backed away. "I'll come back after Prefect work."
"Thank you." Draco said softly, I nodded and moved to the exit.
