Bipolar Much?

04:07, 5 August 2024

"Solace." Someone said and something lifted off my head. "Solace."

"Mm?" I fluttered my eyes open and leaned my head off Draco's shoulder. "Did I actually fall asleep?"

"Appears so." Draco stood up. "I'll get your bag. You go ahead."

"I can get it." Draco purposely avoiding my eyes. "Draco?" I scolded.

"Solace." Draco warned and looked at me. {Potter is hiding under his bloody cloak on the luggage rack. Go.}

I held out my hand. "Bag." Draco rolled his eyes and handed me my bag. "Don't do anything stupid." I walked to the door and out of the train.

The shutters closed to that same car a second later and I heard a flump as if someone big fell inside.

(God damn it, Draco.) I sat on the bench and waited for him.

(It's been 5 years and he still hates Harry... But now he blames him for his father so I guess this year he actually has a reason.)

The door opened and Draco looked both ways with a scowl on his face until he saw me, I stood up and walked to him as he walked to me.

I caught his eyes. "Draco." I sighed. "Was that necessary?"

"He deserved it." Draco scowled and took my arm to lead me.

"Just because someone deserves something doesn't mean it is necessary." Draco's grip on my arm was getting uncomfortable. "I understand you are angry but could you not take it out on my arm to much."

Draco stopped walking and let go of my arm. "Did I hurt you?" He looked at my arm then at me. {I can never do anything right.}

(I wish he didn't think of himself so lowly.)"The only thing you do wrong is how you let your emotions take control." I smiled, Draco looked away then to the ground. "Come on. Let's go see how these uniforms work with my wings." I chuckled softly, we started to walk again.

"My mother had them made special to fit around your wings."

"I know." I sighed. "You're mom bought everything I need for school." We came upon the carriages.

Draco looked over at me and lifted a hand to help me get in. "Don't tell me your feeling bad about it." He scoffed. "You won't make us broke if that's what you are worried about."

I took his hand and climbed up into the carriage. "That's not it... I just..." I shrugged, Draco sat across from me. "I wish I could take care of myself. I don't want you guys thinking I am using you either."

"You worry to much." The carriage moved down the path. "It's nothing really."

I scoffed. "You said the same thing about the Christmas present you gave me."

Draco smiled softly. "It is a Christmas present. I could have gotten something bigger for you."

I huffed. "I am going to have to put a limit on gift prices for you."

Draco rolled his eyes. "You're difficult."{Don't girls like expensive things?}

"You have status, power, and money. With that comes fake friends who are only friends because of those parts of you. Then you have real friends, like me. I'm here for you, not your money."

{...} Draco looked away.

I fiddled with my fingers. "I've been trying to tell you that for many years... The only think I truly care about is the person themselves."

... When the carriage stopped at the gates into the grounds of Hogwarts, Draco offered a helping hand.

I took it. "Thank you." Draco simply nodded, I stepped down.

Draco picked up my bag before I could. "I'll carry it."

"Such a gentleman." Draco rolled his eyes and started to walk to the gate, I followed. "To think that all those years you were hiding this side of you."

"Solace." Draco grumbled, I chuckled slightly, he rolls his eyes.

"Names?" Finnwick asked with a clipboard in his hands.

(He's known us for 5 years.)I kept my gaze away. "Olivia Solace." He checked it off.

"You do realize we have been in your class for 5 years now, right?" Draco scoffed.

"Name?" Finnwick ignored Draco's complaint.

"Draco Malfoy." Draco rolled his eyes and walked up ahead to a pile of luggage that was being checked. "That's my trunk." Draco stormed to the man, I rolled my eyes and followed.

Filch opened the trunk and looked through it. "Hmm..." He looked through it. "What's this cane here, then?"

The gate that gated the grounds of Hogwarts was closed, I glanced up to see Luna and Potter.

"It's not a cane, you cretin. It's a walking stick." Draco scowled.

(Coming back to Hogwarts is only making him more stressed and angry.)

"And what exactly would you be wanting with a walking stick?" Filch questioned. "Could be construed as an offensive weapon."

(You can say that again.)

Snape came out of the tree line. "It's alright, Mr. Filch." He walked over to us. "I can vouch for Mr. Malfoy and Miss Solace."

Draco snatched the walking stick out of Filches hand, Harry and Luna looked over at the commotion.

I looked away. "Draco. Can we go."

Draco looked at me then saw the two people by the door. "Nice face, Potter." Draco yelled to Potter. "Come on." He said quietly to me.

We both walked towards the castle. "Miss Solace." Draco and I stopped and turned to Snape as he walked to us. "You may go, Draco."

Draco eyed both of us then walked away, I looked at Snape and my eyes widened. "You what?"

Snape rolled his eyes. "Can I speak without you searching my mind." He huffed.

"You know I cant."

Snape sighed and reached in his pocket. "I donot know if it will work with your situation." He took a small package out of his pocket and held it out.

Harry and Luna walked up the path, I looked at Snape then to the ground. "Send them away." I said quietly.

When they came close Harry slowed down. "Olivia."

"Run along, Potter." Snape said, Harry didn't leave immediately but when he did Snape turned to me. "Remember who your friends are Solace."

"I know who my friends are." I opened the small box and took out a thin white silk blindfold. "How tight does it have to be?"

"Just enough to keep it on your eyes."

I nodded and placed the blindfold on my eyes then tied it behind my head. Everything was dark from the blindfold until the cloth lost its white color and turned invisible.

I looked at Snape, he raised a brow. "Well?"

(I can't read it thoughts or see his memories. Thank god. I was so afraid of what the school year was going to be like.)

I smiled. "Thank you." He nodded. "Can you see it?"

"No, it is only visible when not being worn fully." I pulled it down so one eye was out. Snape raised a brow. {Do you not trust my own words?}

I shrugged. "You're the closest thing to a mirror at the moment." I pulled it back up. "Thank you. I'll pay you back later when I get a job."

Snape sighed and started to walk towards the castle. "That isn't necessary."

I followed. "But it is. I saw how much you payed for this."

"Can you ever just take a gift without having the need to pay it back?"

"Sorry... Thank you, Snape. It's means a lot that you went to find something that nether of us knew about."

"I couldn't have you losing your mind and cheating on your tests now could I?"

I rolled my eyes. "Can you ever just give a gift and take credit for caring?"

Snape rolled his eyes. "You're welcome, Miss Solace."

I smiled and patted his back. "We both have things to work on." I looked towards the changing rooms as we approached. "I have to go change. Congratulations on becoming the DA teacher. You will be amazing."

Snape gave a hidden smile. "Don't think because you already know that I will go easy on you."

Snape said as I slowed in front of the changing rooms and he kept walking. "I know better then to think that." Snape continued walking to the Great Hall where he was supposed to be already.

(Hopefully I don't have bad luck with you.... But I know this year will have no good luck.)

I walked into the girls changing room and the few girls that were there looked at me with wide eyes as they noticed the wings that were connected to me.

I rolled my eyes and walked into one of the changing stalls. (Let's see.)

I hung the bag on the door and zipped it open to reveal the specially made Hogwarts uniform that was neatly folded in the bag. I took it out and placed the pile in my hand.

With the other hand I took out my wand. (Thank god I got this back.)

I tapped the stack of uniform clothes in my palm then waved my wand over my body. The two outfits changed placed, I put my normal clothes back in the bag then looked around myself to make sure the spell I used was done correctly.

It is a spell I learned when I gave up trying to put on clothes the muggle way at Siriuss house. It wasn't working so I did research until I found a outfit changing spell, it works wonders.

I zipped my bag back up and walked towards the Great Hall, when I passed the luggage hallway I dropped my bag with the rest and continued walking.

When I got in the Great Hall, one by one the students looked at me and started to whisper.

(This would be a time I wish I knew if they were whispering about my wings or me personally.)

I started to make my way to the Slytherin table where I saw Draco looking at me with worry.

When I sat down Draco stared at me, I smiled. "I can't read your mind if that is what you are trying to communicate by."

Draco's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"Snape gave me a blindfold that blocks a Legilimens abilities. It turns invisible when it is being worn."

Draco nodded. "Alright."

I frowned. "What's wrong?"

Draco crossed his arms on the table. "Nothing, just want to get this over with."

Dumbledore stood up. "Very best of evening to you all." The room grew quiet. "First off, let me introduce the newest member of our staff... Horace Slughorn." I looked at the old man that sat next to Snape as he stood up and people clapped. "Professor Slughorn I am happy to say has agreed to resume his old position as Potions Master. Meanwhile, the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape."

Everyone groaned except the Slytherin table... and Draco who seemed to be in the depths of his depressed thoughts.

"Draco." He looked at me. "Are you alright?"

Draco nodded and looked at my plate. "You should eat." He grabbed a serving utensil and started to give me the food I like.

I smiled softly. "You are very good at paying attention aren't you." Draco smiled shyly. "Thank you."

Dumbledore continued. "Now as you know each and every one of you was searched upon your arrival here tonight. And you have the right to know why... Once there was a young man who, like you sat in this very hall... walked this castles corridors, slept under its roof. He seemed to all the world a student like any other. His name? Tom Riddle." Every started to mumble. "Today of course he's known all over the world by another name. Which is why as I stand looking out upon you all tonight I'm reminded of a sobering fact. Every day, every hour, this very minute, perhaps dark forces attempt to penetrate this castles walls. But in the end, they are greatest weapon is you." I looked over to see Draco again in deep, saddened, thought. "Just something to think about. Now off to bed. Pip-pip."
