Holiday
04:07, 5 August 2024It was almost Christmas, the Weasleys, Harry, Mione, and I was invited to Siriuss place for the break. I couldn't tell you how psyched I was to see Sirius again, and Ron's parents.
Mr. Weasley was in an accident but should be coming home from the hospital on Christmas Day. Harry was the one to know, a dream told him, showed him, what was happening.
I closed the DA with a have a wonderful holiday and told them we were going to switch up the teaching when I got back since they were all ready to start dueling and forming combinations. I didn't tell them that though in case they grew nerves over the holidays, I knew Neville would be the most nervous and I didn't want to ruin his progress with his self-confidence.
I packed up my duffle bag for the holidays and headed out of my room. (I can't wait TO SEE SIRIUS!)
I quickly went down the stairs and into the common room, then out the doors to head for the Great Hall where I was supposed to meet Harry, Mione and Ron.
"Solace." Draco grabbed my arm to stop me, I turned to him. "Where are you going so happily?" He chuckled under his breath.
"I'm going with Mione and Harry to spend our holiday with the Weasleys."(Truth with a white lie...)
Draco huffed. "The Weasley? Can they even fit that many people?" I hit his chest, he held it as if I stabbed him. "What was that for?"
I pointed a lecturing finger at him. "Don't be so rude. He is much my friends as I am yours."
"Whatever." Draco handed me a small package. "It's nothing really, just save it for Christmas."
My eyes widened. "But I didn't get you anything."
Draco shrugged. "You gave me loads of pens over the year. Plus, I could already buy anything I want."
"Snob." Draco rolled his eyes, I smiled. "Thank you, Draco... Maybe I can bring you back some homemade sugar cookies. I make the best."
Draco raised a brow. "You can bake?"
"I can cook too." He nodded. "Say hello to your mother and curse your father out for me."
Draco rolled his eyes. "Just go."
I smiled. "I'll see you after the holidays."
Draco put his hands in his pocket, not seeming to be happy to go home. "Yea."
I eyed him. "Would you like to ride the train together?" I could see happiness in his eyes, I smiled. "We can share our worst holiday stories."
Draco shrugged. "If you want to ride with me."
I poked his chest. "It is your choice, you have to pick." Draco stared at me then nodded, I smiled. "I'll meet at the front doors. I have to tell Mione so she doesn't map the whole school to find me."
Draco scoffed. "She would do that wouldn't she."
I nodded. "Probably, I'll see you in a few." Draco walked backwards towards the common room and I headed in the opposite direction and put the present in my bag. (I hope he didn't get me anything expensive... But he is Draco... Damn.)
I walked into the Great Hall and took a seat next to Mione, she smiled at me. "Ready to head to the train?"
I looked shyly at them all. "About that."
"What did you do now?" Mione scolded.
"I'm riding the train back with Draco." Both of their eyes widened, I sighed. "I'll be fine. He is my friend."
"You know who his father works for." Harry scowled.
I raised a brow. "Do you know who my father works for?" Harry frowned. "I know it isn't the same but... Draco is good, it's hidden, but he is slowly showing me the real him."
"We just want to make sure you are being careful." Mione said softly. "He might be nice to you know but he wasn't always."
"We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of it. But we can acknowledge and learn from mistakes we made, and then move on and refocus on the now." I swung my legs out of the bench. "I'll meet you two on the platform when we get there."
Mione nodded. "Alright."
I gave a last smile as I stood up and walked out of the Great Hall with my bag on my shoulder. The front doors were already open to let out the students who were going home for the holiday.
Standing on the side was the blonde boy in his black suit and arms crossed as he leaned back on the wall. Draco saw me and leaned off the wall, putting his hands in his pocket.
I raised a brow. "Do you own any normal clothes?"
Draco looked down at his outfit. "This is as normal as it gets."
I rolled my eyes and started to walk. "You need to live a little."
Draco walked beside me. "And I need to dress differently to live?"
"Wearing casual clothes help you be more... casual, relaxed.. you know? Like me, I could get as messy as I want and not care because I'm not wearing expensive clothes." I shrugged.
"I can do that as well." I raised a brow at him. "I can buy whatever I want, when I want." He bragged.
I rolled my eyes and patted his shoulder blade. "One day you will realize that material things mean nothing, real happiness can't be found in them."
We made it to the carriages and got on with a couple other people and started to head towards the train. We stayed mostly quiet on the way and Draco led me to the back where the Slytherins car was.
"You know this is the first time I've ever been here to ride the whole way." I sat down across from Draco in the booth. "It's nice."
Draco looked out the window. "It's just a train car." I rolled my eyes and leaned back.
As the train moved and everyone took their seats I saw a wonderful girl named Pansy appear in our train cars door window. (She is going to be annoying as hell.)
I leaned forward. "Draco, me or Pansy?"
He looked at me with furrowed brows. "What?"
"Hurry, me or Pansy?"
"You?"
(Good.)I got out of my side and went to Draco's side before Pansy arrived at our table.
Pansy glared at me. "Why are you sitting here?"
I shrugged. "Just felt like it."
Pansy huffed, sat across from Draco with a flirty smile. "My family might be coming over for Christmas."
Draco leaned his head against the back of the seat. "Really?" Pansy smiled and nodded, Draco took a deep breath. "That's great."
I smiled and patted his shoulder. "I wish you luck." Draco flicked his brows and gave a slight eye roll, I smiled.
"Why are you even in this car?" Pansy scowled.
I looked at her. "Let's see.. I'm a Slytherin and I felt like it." I shrugged with a smile. "Why are you here?" Pansy huffed and leaned back in her seat. "Yea." I leaned back and looked over to Draco. "Why are you here?" I raised a brow.
Draco huffed and smiled. "Because this is my spot."
"There are no assigned seats you know."
Draco shrugged. "I like this one."
"Hm." I nodded. "Well then... Next time I want to travel the Slytherin way I will know where to sit." I smirked.
Draco rolled his eyes. "If you sit here I will remove you."
I gasped. "And here I thought we were close enough to share seats."
"Draco only allows me to share seats." Pansy said proudly.
My eye rolled to her. "That's great, Pansy." I looked back at Draco who was looking out the window, I nudged him, he looked at me. "It will be alright."
Draco looked back out the window, I frowned and looked at Pansy who also was looking sadly at Draco.
