Closing Dances

04:07, 5 August 2024

I reached Snape who had an annoyed scowl on his face, I smiled. "Young man, may I have a dance now?"

Snape clasped his hands behind his back. "You do realize how inappropriate it is for a teacher to dance with a student."

I put my hands on my hips. "Are we really going to do this?" Snape raised a brow. "Stop being a pain and give me one dance."

Snapes eyes twitched in annoyance. "Miss Kimberly."

"Mr. Snape." I said sternly.

Snape sighed and held out a hand. "Only because I know how annoyingly insistent you are."

I placed my hand in his. "As long as I get a dance with Mr. Grumpy."

Snape lead me to the floor. "At least have the decency to show respect." He placed his hand on my waist and started to add us to the group.

I smiled. "I will most certainly, Professor Snape, for you are one of the few who have earned my respect."

"You are one particular girl, Miss Kimberly." Snape spun me around.

"Why, thank you." I smiled. "Can you believe that almost 4 years ago was when we first met?"

Snape huffed. "I wanted to expel you as soon as you uttered those disrespectful words."

My mouth gaped. "I was that bad?"

"Worse." Snape smiled a little.

I smiled. "Well, now look at us. We are now best of friends."

Snapes brow rose. "We are not friends."

I made a pouty face. "We are. We hang out in your office.."

"You barge in." Snape lifted me up then placed me back down.

I lifted a brow. "Care about each other."

"It is my job to." He droned.

I smiled. "You definitely care beyond your job." Snape glared, I rolled my eyes. "Well, now we are dancing."

"You were pestering me, Miss Kimberly."

"You're mean." I pouted.

"Obviously." He deadpanned.

I smiled softly. "You're a good person, Severus, just to shielded. Relax."

Snape sighed. "Miss Kimberly if I'm not mistaken, dancing is meant to be silent."

"Rude." I pouted, Snape raised a brow. "Fine."

"Don't take this in a strange way, but you look nice." I smiled slightly. "Don't let past remarks on your looks effect you to much."

"Thank you." We continued to dance.. . .

Snape went back to his standing, I went to Ron and Harry who were on the side lines.

Both of them eyed me, I smiled. "What?"

"Blyme. You look great, Olivia." Ron said.

"I can't believe you dances with Malfoy and Snape." Harry commented.

(Of course that's what he would say.)I rolled my eyes. "Snape said if I danced with Draco then I could dance with him." I shrugged. (I kind of liked dancing with Draco...)"And I wanted to dance with Snape because I wanted to."

Ron eyed the two others in the room. "Did you know about Hermione and Krum?"

I smiled. "Surprise." I chuckled.

"My lady?" I turned around to one of the Durmstrang students stood there with a hand out. "May I have this dance?" He smiled.

"Oh." I looked at Harry and Ron for guidance, they shrugged and I looked back at the man. "Alright." I put my hand in his. "Olivia."

He leaned down and kissed my knuckles. "Zach." He lead me to the floor. "You are beautiful, my lady."

We stopped, he placed a hand on my waist. "And you are very pristine, Sir Zach."

Zach started to lead me through the dance. "I don't mean to come out as rude but may I ask how you received the scar along your arm?" His finger ran down the scar.

Zach spun me. "A Hippogriff. It was an accident." I shrugged. "I didn't realize it would show when I bought this dress." I chuckled softly.

"You are very confident to show scars." Zach smiled and lifted me with the rest of the group of dancing pairs. "I admire that in a woman."

I smiled with pressed lips. "Thank you, but please don't see this more than a dance."

Zach smiled softly. "Of course, Olivia." He spun me around. "After all, we are rival schools."

I chuckled softly. "Yes, for that I shall turn up my nose in your presence until you inevitably lose." I joked. "Only then I shall rub your defeat in your face and watch you cower before us."

Zach chuckled and spun me around. "Olivia, you are quite the character."

(Definitely haven't heard that before.)I smiled. "Thank you."

Another Durmstrang student stopped us as we got to the outside area of the dancing crowd. "May I?"

Zach stopped and kissed my knuckles again. "A pleasure, Lady Olivia."

(Damn. They must teach chivalry in Durmstrang.)I smiled. "The pleasure mine." Zach left and the new man took his spot. "And what do they call you?"

"Eirik." His red cap flew around as we spun. "And yours is Olivia?" I nodded. "A beautiful name."

"Thank you."(This is going to be a long night and a lot of rejections.). . .

Three more males, all beginning sentence that involved the word beautiful, as if they all read the same book on how to speak to ladies.

I smiled and rolled my eyes as I saw Cedric standing on the edge and watching me, I looked at the man I was with. "I'm sorry but after a night with you fine Durmstrang men I do believe the man I promised a dance to never got a chance."

He smiled. "I shall no longer take you from him then." He lead me to the edge of the dance floor and stopped us. "A pleasure, Olivia." He kissed my knuckles.

"Thank you for a wonderful dance." He smiled and left, I turned around to see Cedric walking to me. "Seems my dance card is all full."

"I made a reservation."

I pulled out a fake book and opened it. "The name, Sir?"

Cedric smiled. "Cedric Diggory."

I ran my finger down the imaginary page. "Nope."

Cedric shook his head with a smile. "What about Ric?" I shook my head, Cedric raised a brow. "Ced?" I smirked, Cedric sighed. "Gory?"

I smiled. "Oh, I have been expecting you." I held my hand up. "Shall we?"

Cedric took my hand. "Of course." He placed a hand on my waist and spun us into the dance. "You have been booked all night."

I rolled my eyes. "I had to reject 5 men." I groaned.

Cedric smiled. "I wouldn't be surprised. You look amazing tonight. Wrong house colors but it looks amazing on you."

I smiled. "Thank you." He spun me. "You look handsome, not that you aren't always according to the wooing girls." I smirked, Cedric rolled his eyes. "So... Tell me."

"What?"

I tsked. "What do you mean what? Tell me about Cho."

Cedric smiled shyly. "Cho is... she is kind, sweet.. Obviously smart. She is gorgeous. Cho's amazing."

"Awe, Little Ceds growing up." I looked around. "Where is she? I haven't spotted her yet."

"She is getting punch with her friends." Cedric lifted me up.

"She knows this is just a friends dance right?"

Cedric nodded. "I made sure you understood that this was."

I nodded. "Good.". . .

The civilized dancing was over, the band was out and students were jumping to the beat. All of the teachers and adults were gone and the Prefects were left to do their jobs at keeping the animals in their cage or safe in their rooms.

Harry and Ron were moping around in their seats with their dates bored and stuck with the two. I was standing on the side, watching the group of jumping students as I sipped a glass of punch. With me not being a fan of 'Do what you want" dancing and also not wanting to make a fool of myself with a stranger, I choose to watch.

"Turning into a statue, Mudblood?" Draco walked up to me.

I smiled. "Hey, Draco." He looked over me, I frowned. "Something wrong?"

Draco blinked and looked away. "You look better in the robe." He went to walk away.

My brows furrowed. "I'm tired of this back and forth with you and your split personalities."

Draco stopped and turned back around. "I don't have split personalities."

"Yes you do." I scoffed. "There is Draco, I call I'm Pureblood. He doesn't care that I am a mudblood and always seems to be there when I need him. Then there is Malfoy, I call him Princess. He treats me like his father taught him to treat mudbloods. He's cruel, bullies everyone he can, uses his fathers powers against others and sentences innocent animals to death."I put the glass on the table and picked up the robe to put on. "It's either you give me Draco or Malfoy, I don't want Draco Malfoy, I don't want Pureblood Princess." Dracos

looked at me as his hands came together, thumb running across his palm where I wrote 'Slytherin Pureblood Princess' first year in Transfigurations.

"I understand that is how you were raised and you want to make your father proud. But at what cost? How many people will you push away before you realize it was never worth it?"I walked off to the exit and back to my room where I got ready for the night and feel asleep.
