Three Worries

04:07, 5 August 2024

Harry and Ron wanted to see who was putting their name in the Goblet of Fire, Mione and I wanted to read tomorrows lesson so we will know what the teacher is talking about.

We merged the two, Mione and I are reading, Harry and Ron are standing and staring at older students placing their names into the flame and others are applauding.

"Come on, Cedric. Put it in." Boys yelled.

I looked up to see Cedric being pushed towards the Goblet of Fire. "Ric?"

Cedric turned to me, smiled and placed his name in the Goblet, he turned back to me, I shook my head and looked back at my book, Cedric went back to his friends.

"I swear if Cedric gets picked I'm going to kill him myself. These people are fools for entering."

Mione glanced from her book to me. "It's eternal glory."

"Yea, until you die. So what? Eternal glory for 100 years?"

Mione rolled her eyes. "Apparently you don't care for fame like they do."

I nodded. "You're correct there young witchling." Mione rolled her eyes, I smiled and continued reading.

The twins come up cheering. ""Yea!"" They ran in holding vials in the air.

"Oh, god." I sighed. "Must they always do the rebellious options in life? Those two are going places in life. Don't know where but they are."

Mione chuckled. "What do you expect?"

"Thank you, thank you." They gave the benches of students high fives like athletes at the end of a match. "Well lads we've done it."

"Cooked it up just this morning." Fred said.

"It's not going to work." Mione sang.

The twins walked over to us. "Oh yeah? And why's that Granger."

She pointed to the age line. "You see this? This is an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself."

"So?"

Mione scoffed. "So." She closed her book. "A genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by something pathetically dimwitted such as an age potion."

"But that's why it's so brilliant.""Because it's so pathetically dimwitted."They stood up.

"Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb." I looked up at them. "One life lesson you must learn... Is Karma."

They rolled their eyes at me, and shook their vials."Ready Fred?" He uncorked his. "Ready George." He uncorked his. They linked arms like a wedding couple. ""Bottoms up.."" They drank the potion then jumped inside the age line, and everyone cheered. ""Ready."" The twins put their names in the flame and did a high-five. ""Yesss.""Then the flame fires up and they were flung across the room onto the floor. When they got up they had full heads of grey hair and beards."You said..""Fred You said.."They roll around fighting on the floor and the crowd laughs.

The room suddenly becomes silent as Viktor Krum walks in and puts his name in the flame, looking at Hermione as he does it.

Mione smiled, I raised a brow. "Did you just smile at Krum?"

Mione rolled her eyes. "No." I smiled and closed my book, she looked at me. "Where are you going?"

"I need to talk to either Snape or Dumbledore about this Alabaster. Somethings off with him and it's not his loony side Ron always talks about."

"Liv." Mione sighed. "Promise you won't do anything like in years prior."

I smiled and stood up. "Course not. Bye." I waved and walked out of the room. (Who knows Alabaster better?... Screw it I'll go to Snape.)

I walked down the hallway and to the flight of steps leading to the dungeon. "Mudblood!" I stopped misstep and looked back up to Draco, he stepped down the stairs. "You think you can get away with what you did in class today?" He sneered. "My father is furious with what happened at the World Tournament."

I scoffed. "Your father deserves every word I give him. He's rude, the way he uses that bloody cane."

"You should learn not to talk to my father in such a way. You'll regret it."

"No, Draco. Maybe I do regret it but usually what I saw I stand by fully. So no, I won't stop."

Draco scoffed. "Let's see how that turns out."

"What are you going to do?" I scoffed. "Hurt me? You hurt me, I'll hurt you back." I stepped up a step. "Your father is the devil and you his kin, he created a monster in you, cut off your wings."

Draco's jaw clenched. "Shut it, Mudblood."

I smiled. "No, because you need to hear the truth. You have so much potential for good but you can't reach because of your father." I stepped down. "And I thought I told you last year to never speak or even look at me again."

Draco's glared. "You think I'd listen to you?" He scowled.

"No, but if you don't I'll won't stop my own annoying ways you love so much." I smiled. "Now leave me alone and forever hold your peace." I stepped down, only half of my foot caught the stair.

Draco grabbed my arm so I wouldn't fall. "Watch it you clumsy Mudblood." He steadied me on the stairs.

"Shit." I breathed out.

"Pathetic." He scowled and walked back up the stairs. "Filthy Mudblood."

I smiled softly. "He cares still... Maybe I was a little to harsh." I turned and walk down and down all the way to Snapes door where I knocked.

"Yes?"

"Does that mean come in?"

I heard a sigh. "Come in, Miss Kimberly." I opened the door, stepped in and closed it. "What do you need?" Snape put the jar back on the shelf, his table in the center was brewing something.

I walked to my normal chair and sat down. "Do you know Alabaster personally?"

"Not really, no." He turned to me. "Why?"

I shrugged. "He's hiding something. Like a second personality. He speaks calmly but a second later he is yelling or growling his words. During class he showed us the Crucio curse on a type of spider and the look in his eyes... he enjoyed it."

Snape walked to his potion. "Miss Kimberly, Moody is not one of stable mind. He is an ex-auror for a reason."

"Yes but there's something there."

"Dumbledore trusts Alabaster Moody for some reason and I trust Dumbledores judgment."

I sighed. "Severus, you know what happened at the World Quidditch match?" Snape nodded. "You know how someone conjured Voldys mark?"

Snape squinted his eyes. "Did you just give the Dark Lord a nickname?"

I nodded. "That's not the point. The point is I saw the man, sort of, it was dark. But the light from the mark kind of illuminated his eyes and... Alabaster has the same... it's..." I sighed.

"If something was wrong with Alabaster I'm sure Dumbledore will find out. But for now promise you won't involve yourself like you have done in years past. I rather you not lose your memories again."

I sighed. "Just...." I stood up. "If only you watch out for him. I know you might think it is normal but I see something you can't."

Snape rolled his eyes back to his potion. "I will keep a close ear and watchful eye."

"Thank you... I'll leave you to your brewing." I walked to the door. "Oh." I turned to Snape with an innocent smile.

Snape sighed and closed his eyes. "What did you do?"

"Um. I kind of saw Lucius at the World Tournament and had a conversation with him." Snapes eyes found me and glared, I smiled and waved. "Bye, Severus."

"Will you ever learn?"

"Nope." I walked out of the room and shut the door behind me.
