CHAPTER FOURTEEN (LAST CHAPTER)
17:52, 23 December 2019"Maria, you gotta wake up." Maria heard a voice call out to her. All she saw was thick darkness, but she couldn't find it. She couldn't find a light.
"Maria, please. Wake up." The voice called out again. This time it wasn't an echo, but she could make out a voice. She reached for kits voice, but she couldn't touch it. She couldn't grab it. She couldn't have it.
"Maria, i beg you. He hasn't come back, but I have a feeling he won't be so nice when he does come back. He might kill us!"
Maria laughed in her head. Nice? If only kit knew. She was tired of being scared, tired of being helpless. So, she grabbed the darkness. She embraced it. She clung onto it so hard, and she wasn't letting go. Her eyelids flew open, finally.
Kit quickly kissed her forehead. "Maria, your awake. Thank god. I thought you died for a second.." Maria sat up, and hugged him so tight. She never wanted to let go.
"We have to get out of here."
Maria shook her head.
"How would we do that? The door to leave this room is locked. We would have no where to go, or the police would find us." Maria asked. Kit only knew one option, an option he never wanted to try. The aliens, or (the little green men) took him away from his life, and dropped him back down as a murderer. Somehow, he needed them. He needed them to save them both before they died in the white tile room.
"I have an idea. You might like it, or you might not." Kit said. Maria waited for him to speak again, because she wasn't going to say anything.
"We need to kill ourselves. B-but we don't die! The aliens will save us," kit stuttered out. His plan was crazy, and Maria wasn't as desperate as him in the moment.
"We don't know that for a fact, Kit." Maria attempted to reason with him. Kit shook his head over and over.
"They'll save us. They won't let us die, they WONT!" Kit yelled. She had never heard him yell like that. Especially to her. She flinched when he did so.
Kit stood up. "Maria, I have to leave this place. I can't do this anymore. We need the green men." Kit saw a spare syringe that was lying on the floor, and he grabbed it.
"Kit, what are you doing?" Maria asked. Kits hands shook, but he didn't hesitate. He sliced his own throat with the needle part of the syringe, making his throat bleed. The blood gushed onto the floor, and kit dropped with it. Maria gasped, screaming, crying, panicking. Flashes of bright light appeared before her, and she could assume what was happening.
"The aliens are coming.."
She couldn't let them take him without her.
She quickly grabbed the syringe, pointing the needle to her throat and sliced it. More flashes of bright, white light flashed in her eyes as she bled out. Buzzing noises crowded her ears because that's all she heard.
"Maria? Maria is this you, darling?"
Maria opened her eyes, to a white room. It wasn't even a room, it was just walls of bright white light. She stood up, and looked at the person who just called out to her.
"Dad?"
Her father took her in his arms, and hugged her so tight she thought she wouldn't be able to breathe again. Maria didn't know where she was, or what happened really. All she remembered was dying. It was so vivid, so real.
"Where's kit?" Was the first thing maria said. She didn't quite know if her father would know where Kit was, but she hoped he knew something. Or where they were.
"Kit? Kit walker?" Her father replied. Maria nodded happily. She then heard another voice, a familiar one.
Maira turned away from her father, running straight towards her friend. "Grace!" Her and grace ended on bad terms, but that was her best friend. She was so happy to see grace again.
"Maria, why are you here?" Grace asked. Maria was in confusion, because she didn't have a choice to be whatever 'here' was. She just had awoken there.
"I don't know what here is." Maria explained.
"They couldn't let you die." Grace said. Maria assumed she was talking about the aliens so she nodded.
"Kits here. He's with Alma. He's happy with her. He's found his peace." Grace said, pointing to kit who just appeared with Alma. Maria's stomach dropped.
Kit then noticed Maria. "Maria?" Maria made a small smile, and waved. Grace turned to Maria, and sighed.
"The green men need kit and Alma up here. They don't need you yet. Theyll send you back down." Grace explained. Maria then panicked. She didn't wanna be back where Doctor thredson was!
"No!" Maria stepped back, and shook her head multiple times. Grace grabbed her arms, holding them still so she could add on to her sentence.
"They're giving you a restart chance. It'll be a world without kit, so nothing that you've went through happens. You'll be sent back on the day kit was supposed to arrive, but in this world he never existed." Grace said. Maria couldn't imagine anything without kit, he was apart of her life. He was her childhood bestfriend. He was her lover.
A few tears ran down Maria's cheeks. "I love him." Grace shrugged.
"He doesn't love you anymore."
Bright flashes of white appeared again, and Maria fell to the floor. Before, it was soft but now it was hard. Hard like concrete.
"Sister Maria, have you fallen?"
Maria opened her eyes to see sister Mary Eunice. Maria sat up from what appeared to be a corner in Sister judes office.
Maria rubbed her head. "I'm f-fine.." Sister Mary Eunice smiled.
"Good! I'm going to get started on breakfast."
Maria was left in confusion. Even though grace told her that Kit never existed, she remembered Kit. She was never going to forget him.
