Ch 98

"Do I seriously have to?" 

I don't want to, why would I? 

"You need to, we will be preoccupied so that leaves you to your own devices. I don't like that." 

Sasori, my guy, your opinion is irrelevant. 

But guess I have no choice, I put my fingers in the respective position and push chakra into them. Thought waves, who would've thought I'd do this. When I open my eyes I am back in that damned cave. 

Astral Projection Jutsu, we meet astrally across great distances and have conversations. But we could only do that because of Pain, and his Uzumaki blood. They have great reserves of chakra, and I want more. 

Maybe I should pay him a visit at some point in the future. 

But to the moment at hand, I am handing behind Sasori who was on his specific finger on the statue. Looks like we are a little late, since all the members are here. 

"We've all assembled." 

I glanced to the right and saw Pain, but he was already looking at me. Looks like I'll be the star of the show again. 

"Huh, is the hottie back?" 

I heard a voice across from me. Hiden apparently thinks I'm attractive. 

Gross. 

I am in no mood to deal with this man. I don't even glance at him as I flip him off, I don't mind making an enemy of this dude. But he only laughed at my action, not even taking the meaning to heart. 

Looks like I am the star without even doing much, but I can guess why. I'm not akatsuki but I am here, plus I am in this meeting. Must be important. 

Such a bother, such a drag. Well, if they want me to be their little doll, I'll perform like they wish. 

"Hiden, your God will fail you, greatly." 

This will piss him off and make him leave me alone. When I actually looked in his direction I could see his face contort in rage. His hand was twitching and slowly going to his weapon like he was actually going to fight here right here and now. 

"Save your breath, it's not like any of us are actually here. If you really think my words hurt your ego then come and find me, well, if your leader doesn't think I'm useful anymore." 

I turn to Pain, expecting him to come in and say something. But he doesn't bother with addressing any of us. Ignoring the whole situation and ignoring my words. 

But the thing is, he didn't dismiss them. He didn't correct me or anything. If I was wrong, he would've immediately said so. But he didn't, because I was still useful. 

Everything then went quiet, a tense silence as our real reasoning was brought forth. I could hear the water dripping down to the ground in this cave. It's very damp, dark and disrespectful for even being a meeting place. 

Perfect for these rogues. 

"How long has it been since we've all been together like this?" 

I raised a brow at the question Kisame brought forward. Didn't they meet like two days ago. Also 7 years? These people are old.

"7 years, not since Orochimaru left us. And now Orochimaru has the sharingan." 

Oh shit, has it happened already? Damn it, these guys took all my time and now Orochimaru has Sasuke. Does he still need me after this? Why am I acting this way, of course he does. A backup sharingan plus my experiments, I'm fine. 

"Is that true Itachi, your little brother?" 

I looked at Itachi and slowly narrowed my eyes. I got it now, he did it. I thought they met up a few days ago when I was with them, guess not. 

Itachi must've made it seem like they were all there so I wouldn't try anything. Like I would've, my death wish is too strong for that. 

Itachi glanced my way, but after making eye contact for a few seconds, he never looked my way again. 

"Don't be impatient, we'll deal with our old friend Orochimaru in time. We have only three years in which to prepare and we all know what we need to do to be ready, hm." 

It's just one bad situation after the next. I'm meeting too many people and the worst thing is they all hate each other. 

My luck is so cooked. I need some Nagito Komaeda type stuff to come on before I think I'm just cursed. 

"Of course, no mistakes. Remember what we seek, everything, including the nine-tailed fox." 

Pain finally spoke, thought this guy was mute for a minute. But no, he's just antisocial. No surprise. 

I can feel the villainy tension in the cave, it's kinda weird being here. It's such an important meeting and I'm hearing all the details of their plan. And they are letting me. 

Must be Obito, he's already threatened me to kingdom come and back. He's been threatening me for 5 years and I've kept my mouth shut, he must think me a pushover. 

Ha, little does he know that I could literally out his whole life and would die a happy girl while doing so. But no, I wouldn't do that. At least not yet. 

"What about the girl?" 

Kisame, why is it you always have the right questions for me. I want to know about my part in this too. 

Joking, man already told me. He wants me to make their lives more easy while in turn making mine more difficult. 

Sucks ass. 

"The girl, she is known to be under Orochimaru and a scientist in chakra. She has proved useful in her experiments." 

There! Was that so hard Pain? Couldn't you have said that before? But nooo, you had to be silent because you wouldn't let me use you to bitch slap Hiden spiritually. 

But you said it now, so I'll take it. 

After we leave the meeting, Sasori and Deidara turn to me. 

"You know, that barrier makes a lot more sense now."
