Ch 66

"AAAHHHHHH!!! BLOOD!!! IT'S MY BLOOD!!!!"

Chills, literal chills.

To hear it in real time. But I still felt bad, Gaara's never been hurt before. And that chidori must have been-

I shake my head, turning that mindset off. I stood on guard, it's time soon.

Orochimaru didn't give me the specifics to the plan, as we both know I would probably betray him.

I will betray him.

Sasuke tried to get his arm out of Gaara's cocoon, but it didn't budge. He used chidori again and pushed his arm out. The thing that was making Sasuke's arm stay was a disfigured sand arm.

Shukaku.

Sasuke held his arm as he stared into the hole he made, on guard and waiting. A loud nasty growl sent waves of dust everywhere. I frowned as I felt Shukaku's chakra grow and grow.

The cocoon started to crack before it dissolved into sand around Gaara, who was breathing heavily with an injury on his shoulder. He glared menacingly at Sasuke.

I flinched when I felt the genjutsu engulfed the arena.

I immediately made a sign, "release."

I saw everyone around me start to fall asleep, slowly slumping over. I smirked to myself, Orochimaru may have not told me anything about the plan.

But the anime is informative enough. It was a losing game for him.

But suddenly, a big explosion happened where the Hokage was. I frowned, I may not have liked the old man much, but he didn't deserve to die. But sadly-

I'm not going to think about it.

All the Anbu ran to where the Hokage was, as he was priority. The smokescreen worked. And soon, Orochimaru had a kunai to the Hokage's neck. Then they were surrounded by Orochimaru's men, soon to be caged in.

Orochimaru wanted a fight to the death, he thought it was going to be an easy fight.

He will soon be proven wrong, and I have no intention of stopping it.

The barrier was cast, there was no stopping them now. Fake Anbu joined Kabuto at the bottom of the stairs, a fight between Kakashi and Might Guy is going to happen.

I heard a loud bang happen a little ways away from where I was. Probably the summoning jutsu.

The sand siblings were all together in the arena where Sasuke was, their teacher also joined them. Gaara was holding his head in pain, he even dropped to his knees.

Gemma stood besides Sasuke, he knew the Sand village was a threat. Genma and the sand siblings teacher started fighting, letting Sasuke run to stop Gaara.

I looked back to the other fight. I can see Orochimaru and the Hokage from here, but it seemed like everyone just pieced all the pieces to the puzzle together.

But then, the fake Anbu started their attack, yet I just stood still. They didn't go after me, so at least that's good.

I glazed back again to see Orochimaru stabbing his own hand, shocking everyone. I frowned as I rubbed my own hand, uncomfortable how easily Orochimaru hurt himself.

You're not going to be able to do that for much longer.

Sakura then came over and released Naruto from his genjutsu. I smiled as I saw Pakkun with her. She then went to wake Shikamaru, only to find him faking being in a genjutsu. I snorted when Pakkun bit him, making Shikamaru scream.

But I let out an audible laugh when Pakkun bit him again.

The others heard me yet Naruto was in his own world. He looked around to see everyone asleep and many jonin fighting. "What happened?"

A sand ninja then went behind Naruto. I had already thrown a kunai to him when Might Guy punched him.

The man couldn't even scream from the punch, as all the air was knocked out of his lungs. My kunai in his shoulder didn't help either.

Guy made a big hole in the arena as Kakashi joined them. He narrowed his eyes at me, but put his attention on the kids for the meantime.

"Now, I'll explain the mission. After I do, go through that opening. First, track down Sasuke and stop him. Then, find a safe location and wait for further orders." Kakashi explained.

"Did something happen to sasuke?" Naruto asked.

I like how that's your only concern.

"I'll tell you what happened along the way. Now let's go!" Sakura grabbed Naruto and they both went through the hole.

"Why me, what a drag." Mood, Shikamaru.

"Listen whiner." I rolled my eyes as Pakkun explained how touching his paws was a reward. It would be though.

After Shikamaru didn't get it, Pakkun bit him again and dragged him out the hole.

I was about to leave before Kakashi appeared behind me, with kunai to my neck. I was quick, and had one of my katana's to his stomach.

"Not so fast, Ishi."

I frowned, "Kakashi, I was left in the dark with this-"

"I don't believe you."

Before I could get any words out, Guy was in front of me. "You're Ishi?!"

I sighed, "terrible reunion."

Kakashi cut my neck slightly with the kunai, but I didn't move my katana. "How deep are you in this?"

I frowned, "like sugar with cake."

Kakashi frowned, "I'll interrogate you later, but I have bigger things to deal with." He let me go and went back to fighting, Guy stared at me for a bit longer before going to fight too.

I rubbed my neck and frowned, what is it with people and hurting my neck. I left my neck as it was and jumped out of the hole.

I was going to follow the kids before I saw that Orochimaeu was summening the old hokages. And I just had to see that.

"Ow," my chest felt a little...? I'm not sure what?

I jumped on the rooftop, where some Anbu were. They immediately were on guard, with their Kunai in hand.

I raised mine in surrender, "not a threat, I can't do anything even if I wanted to." They didn't accept that.

I took off my mask, I knew these guys wouldn't recognize me, but maybe it would calm them down a little. They kinda seemed to accept that, but they didn't let their guard down.

"Ishi, welcome~" Orochimaru acknowledged me.

That was just to throw the Hokage off, damn snake.

"Ishi?" the Hokage snapped his neck in my direction. "Ishi, you're alive." he smiled.

Orochimaru didn't even attack him, he just let the Hokage see me. Even the First and Second Hokage looked in my direction. They didn't know me, so they didn't look happy to see me.

But Lord third did.

He looked so happy to see I was alive.

Why?

Orochimaru made it very clear I was on his side. I'm on his enemy's side yet he doesn't bat an eye.

Even if what Orochimaru said was a lie, he didn't know that.

"This is a big reunion today it seems, how fun," he was being sarcastic.

I glared at Orochimaru as his fight with Lord 3rd continued. But the fun fight I saw in anime, just didn't exist anymore. I wasn't having fun.

I thought I would, I thought maybe I'd get some satisfaction. But no, I guess not.

Before the Hokage did the reaper death seal, before everything ended.

I remembered something.

Oh ya...

The reason he was fighting so hard. This is his village. This is his home. This is where his family is.

The Hokage has a grandson. Konohamaru.

He also had two children, one of them being Asuma.

He lost one already...

He lost his wife too...

My family...

And he didn't agree to the slaughter of the Uchiha clan, he was just stupid and ignorant.

I frowned, feeling my heart get heavy.

It wasn't his fault, it was Danzo. Hokage, he just... I turned away, leaving the fight. I couldn't see the end of this fight. Even Orochimaru losing his arms didn't give me satisfaction anymore.

My chest hurt a lot. My eyes stung. I went to a high point in Konoha and saw the destruction.

I looked around me, at Konoha. At... my old home. I grew up here, I lived here with... everyone.

When did I become so...Why did I...

Why...Why am I acting like this?

I see now...I understand.

The curse of hatred is a powerful thing...I see why it's called a curse.

My name...My parents named me after their will.

I dishonor them...Their legacy of not giving into hatred.

I just let someone's father and grandfather die.It's just like then...

Back when I first killed that girl.She was innocent...

Damn, I need to wake up. I've been whining for too long. I need to get a grip. I'm not some little kid anymore.

I am Ishi Uchiha, and my will to survive means nothing if I can live to my fullest.
