Ch 60

So now the genins have a month before the final battle, sweet. I get to laze around for a month. 

Is what I would say if only Orochimaru would let me leave the house. 

He doesn't want me to leave unless I was with him or Kabuto. And I can see why, the moment I step out of here, I'm meeting my old friends. Like seriously, I tried everything. 

After a week I just gave up, "hey, Kabuto, I want to go to the hospital." 

Kabuto, who was reading up till this point, looked at me with an annoyed expression. 

"No." 

I rolled my eyes and just got up, Orochimaru wasn't here at the moment so that's good. 

"Sit back down, we don't want you blowing our cover." 

I frowned, "just do a transformation jutsu, I just want to see some genins." 

Kabuto sighed, "no." 

I rolled my eyes and started walking to the door, Kabuto was quick to grab my arm. 

"Stop it, Ishi, I won't let you." I looked at him unamused and activated a jutsu I haven't used in years. 

Chakra absorption. 

Kabuto, who was surprised, tried to let go. 

But I held him. 

He put chakra into his hands and swung at me. 

I didn't move. 

He stopped just before he hit my neck, "let. Go." 

I again looked at him unamused, "make. Me." 

He glared at me and kicked my stomach, making me grunt in pain. 

But I didn't let go. 

"Kabuto," I said in all seriousness. 

"Get off your ass and get ready. I'm not playing." 

Kabuto can't kill me. Honestly, he could barely hurt me. Orochimaru said only if I was trying to escape. While I was, it was harder for Kabuto. He just found out I had chakra absorption jutsu, and now he was in a bind. 

I wasn't letting go, and his chakra was getting drained. 

"Two choices. We go, or I don't let go." 

I was giving him a choice, we both go outside unscathed. Or we are both getting hurt. We've never fought, so who knows who will win. Either way, it won't be easy. 

"So that's how it is," Kabuto narrowed his eyes. 

"Yes it is," I don't care who wins. I'm not having this brat have his way without a fight. 

"..."

We stared at each other. Each not backing down from the challenge.

"..."

"Fine, but I'm telling Orochimaru about this new development." He acts like I didn't know that would happen. 

"Yes, run to your master like a little lost puppy." 

His nose scrunched up into a sneer, "I didn't know you could be this-" 

"Rude. I know, I'm making sure to watch my tongue around you both. You should make sure you do the same." 

I let go of him and walked to the door, transforming into a normal citizen. Kabuto did the same, "make this quick." 

I smiled in fake happiness, "of course." 

We walked to the hospital and I signed my name in. Seems like Naruto is here, must have beem the chief toad. I walked in with Kabuto standing outside. 

Naruto was passed out and Shikamaru was in the room, "oh hi." 

Shikamaru glanced at me, "who are- oh." 

It clicked. 

"How have you been, Shikamaru," I smiled, walking over. He smiled slightly, "tried, Choji's been on a BBQ marathon." 

I chuckled, "I'll have to go there some time." I looked at Naruto on the bed, softly patting his hair. 

"You've all grown up beautifully." 

Shikamaru shook his head, a slight blush on his face. "You're such a drag." 

I smiled, "how's your parents?" He hummed, "mom's been on my butt about the chunin exams, while dad is just dad. They are both drags." I chuckled, "I'll have to stop by at some point." 

Shikamaru's face suddenly became serious. 

"They think you're dead. We all did. There's a grave and everything for you." My breath caught in my throat, "I know." 

Shikamaru looked at Naruto, "he cried so much when he found out." I looked at Naruto, his face peaceful in slumber. I could only imagine what I made him go through. "We all did." 

I smiled sadly, "I'm sorry for leaving, I don't even know how to apologize to everyone." 

Shikamaru frowned, "apologize to Naruto first, he was your family." 

I patted Shikamaru's head, "you're all my family." I could see the slight smile on his face before he brushed my hand off. 

"I will explain everything, just not now. So, please keep this to yourself, just for now." Shikamaru nodded, "this is a drag." 

I grabbed his hand, looking him in the eyes seriously. I smiled, "everything will be fine, good luck on the chunin exams. I know you'll win." 

He looked confused before getting what I was trying to say. 

I'm being watched. 

"I'll see you later." I left the room, and nodded at Kabuto. 

"One more person," I walked to the next room. "Are you awake?" I put my genin disguise on. 

"Hitori, right?" Lee was resting on his bed, a happy smile on his face. I chuckled, "why yes, I heard you were hurt." 

Lee had a cute blush on his face, "I will be ok, I just need to train harder." I smiled, "don't push yourself too much, alright." 

Lee nodded, "I will take care of myself." I nodded, "ok, have a quick recovery." 

I left the room, Kabuto looked bored, but had a slightly surprised look. 

"Didn't know you could be so soft," it didn't sound like a question, more like a statement to himself. 

"We don't have that relationship, Kabuto. You don't deserve my kindness." I walked away with him behind me out of the hospital. 

When we got back, Kabuto went straight back to reading and went to my room. When I went out to get food, Orochimaru had just come back. 

Kabuto was beside him. 

I ignored them both and went to get food, while they both stared at me in silence. Today is not my day. 

"My dear..."

I turned to him.

"You had an eventful day." 

I groaned in my head, can't I just eat in peace. 

"Why yes I did..."

I glared at Kabuto.

"My stomach still hurts from him kicking me." 

My bluntness caused him to smirk. "I see," then he went back to talking with Kabuto. 

I tilted my head confused, "what the- I'm not gonna question it." 

I went to eat in my room, confused by how smoothly this went. I thought he was going to choke me again.
