Ch 24

"Squad leader!?" It has only been a few months since Itachi joined the Anbu but he's already squad leader. Sheesh. 

"Yes, I was promoted" Itachi gave me a little smug smile as I rolled my eyes. "Congrats, I do not envy you." 

Too much work. And too much responsibility. 

I was at Itachi's home, he was getting ready for the Anbu and I was helping him... With nothing. I was just there to talk with him. "How's little Sasuke?" He was at home getting ready for the academy. 

"Sasuke is first in all his classes. His teachers praise him all the time," I nodded "how sweet." 

Itachi handed me a brush and I started to brush his hair. 

"How's Naruto?" I hummed at the question, "he's a cute little rascal. But he never pays attention in class," Itachi's hair is very smooth and silky. "But I make him do all his homework so that's a start," I giggled at the memory. 

For Naruto, I already left his breakfast on his table so he should be fine. 

I hand Itachi his hair elastic and he ties his hair back. "Are you ready for the first day as Anbu captain?" It is an important day for him. 

Itachi nodded his head "it's to be expected," I rolled my eyes "you're humble to everyone except me." Itachi laughed "it's because I've always been like this, why stop." I sighed "true," I patted his back as we left his room. 

Sasuke ran up and hugged Itachi "big brother!" I chuckled as Itachi hugged him back. "Do I get my hug Sasuke?" I asked sweetly, Sasuke stuck his tongue at me "big brother gives the best hugs." 

I slowly smiled creepily at Itachi, I know he had something to do with this change in attitude. 

Itachi winked at me, "it's alright Sasuke" he patted his back. Sasuke pouted then smiled at me as he hugged me, "big sister." I sweetly patted his head as I glared at Itachi, who again winked at me. 

"Alright you two, let's get going" we head to the kitchen as Mikoto gives them their lunches. "Ishi, I made something for you too" I happily smiled at Mikoto "thank you!" 

She gave me Gyudon (Japanese Beef Rice Bowl). 

We all leave their house, "Itachi, do you have enough time?" The captain should always be on time, if not early. Itachi nodded, "we have time," we all walked together to the academy. 

Sasuke being the little kid he is and Itachi being the brat he is. 

When we arrived at the academy we gave Sasuke a hug as he went to play with his friends. I saw Naruto arriving and I waved to him. He waved back with a big smile. 

I chuckled as I walked down the street with Itachi, "you don't want to be late. I can guess they won't like you at first." Itachi shook his head with a smile "because I'm young?" I nodded "as usual." 

We both rolled our eyes. 

"Just go ahead, I'll pick up Sasuke later," he nodded and poked my forehead. I pouted as he laughed before disappearing. I then went to my little cabin to experiment as I waited for the academy to finish. 

At the end of the academy, I went to pick up Sasuke. As I waited I saw a little girl coming towards me. 

I smiled at her "hello Hinata," she smiled shyly "your Ishi, right?" I nodded and bent down, "I am, it's nice to see you again." She smiled a little more confidently "it's nice to see you too." 

I patted his head "how are things going?" I asked with a soft voice, "it's ok," she giggled at my touch. I smiled. 

"Tell your father I said hi" Hinata nodded "ok." I saw Sasuke coming out "I'll see you later Hinata" I stood up "have a nice day" I heard Hinata behind me. 

I chuckled as I saw Sasuke talking with Naruto. I bent down to them, "didn't know you guys were friends." They both glared at each other before turning their attention to me. 

"We are not friends!" 

"We are not friends!" 

I chuckled before patting both their heads "I don't believe you." 

We said our goodbyes to Naruto as I took Sasuke home, "was big brother too busy?" Sasuke sadly asked me, I smiled "no, he just had a big day today." 

I open the door to his house, "he will be home soon, give him a big hug when he comes." Sasuke smiled before hugging me "thank you, big sister." I chuckled and patted his back, "now go in and give your mother a hug." 

He nodded and did as I said as I went home to give my own mom a hug. 

I did and then had dinner before going to sleep. It was an eventful day.

I woke up suddenly from a feeling I was being watched. 

I turned to my window and saw a flash of white hair. 

Immediately jumping out my window I chased the person. 

They were faster than me but my Sharingan was able to pinpoint them. 

We both ran out of the Uchiha grounds and into the main part of the leaf. 

Many times they tried to get rid of me, but it never worked. 

Didn't matter if they went in circles or if they jumped over buildings. 

It wasn't until we reached a part of the village that was important to me that they slowed down. 

And there was that white hair I saw, it was someone I haven't seen in a while. "Can't leave without saying hi, Jiraiya." 

He turned around and sheepishly smiled, "you caught me." I chuckled and shook my head, "why were you at my home?" Jiraiya smiled "I wanted to see how well you grew up," I giggled "and do you think I did." 

He rolled his eyes, "of course, you grew up beautifully." I smiled sadly, that's what Kushina said to me. 

I chuckled "have you seen Naruto?" Jiraiya looked at Naruto's apartment and smiled sadly, "I don't deserve to." I sighed and patted his shoulder. "Minato made you Naruto's godfather, you deserve it." He chuckled softly, "but he doesn't know me." 

I rolled my eyes, "give it time." 

I grabbed his arm and brought him to Naruto's window. I smiled when it was still open. He doesn't listen to me. I brought us both inside. 

It was actually clean, I put some cleaning habits in Naruto so he doesn't make a mess. 

I smiled sweetly as I saw Naruto sleeping soundly, he still is a restless sleeper though. Naruto was six right now, his birthday just passed. But mine was right around the corner. 

I will be 10 soon...

"He has Minato's hair," Jiraiya smiled as he sat on Naruto's bed. 

Naruto smiled while still asleep, "Shishi.." he quietly whispered. I softly laughed and got into bed with Naruto. He woke up a little and when he saw it was me, he smiled and hugged me before going back to sleep. 

"He has Kushina's smile." 

I softly wake Naruto again, "say hi to your godfather." Naruto gave a big sleepy smile "hey gramps," and then he went back to sleep. I quietly laughed as Jiraiya rolled his eyes. 

"Have you been taking care of him?" I nodded, "I have, I'm kinda also his godsister." Jiraiya chuckled, "guess that means I have two godchildren," I smiled "that sounds nice." 

A sweet silence came through the room, other than Naruto's soft snoring. 

"When are you leaving?" I know he doesn't come to the village a lot. I didn't even know he came at all pre Naruto, so this is a nice surprise. "When you go to sleep" I softly smiled and laid down with Naruto cuddling up to me. 

"Alright," I didn't want him to go, I know it will be a while until I see him again. "We will meet again," Jiraiya patted my head. 

"We will all meet again."
