«12» DECLARATION OF WAR

Inomi was just peacefully roaming around the Village. Nothing suspicious was happening over the place.

She entered a dark place, amazed by the blue hues and historical prints on the walls.

Well, she knew that yesterday would be a reason that those troublemakers would still come back.

....Expecting that they'll have more backup, not much too handle from now on. "This is getting stressful..." She groaned will slouching at a wall.

Bump.

The Yamanaka surprisingly bumped into someone, she peeked at the side of her hair, seeing a tall blonde woman.

"Watch where you're going.." The mysterious lady muttered as she angrily stomped her foot. Inomi smiled while turning to face her.

"I'm sorry, now carry on from your work!" She bowed at her, which made her cackle. The lady showed her sharp shark teeth as her laughs echoed through the halls.

"Being courteous aren't you?" She taunted while Inomi raised her eyebrows. She observed her features. Inomi clicked her tongue.

"Sharp teeth.... Familiar type of clothing... And your weapons... You're no ordinary citizen." She concluded. The Blonde girl smirked while getting closer to Inomi's face.

"Not so bad for a pretty girl like you."

"So are you, Buntan Kurosuki." The girl, who was revealed to be Buntan furrowed her eyebrows. She raised her eyebrows in a cocky manner, sticking her tongue out towards the Yamanaka.

"Hey, aren't you one of those dogs in Hidden Leaf right?" She smirked when she saw the Yamanaka clenched her fists. "You all are just the same, your kindness irritates me!"

She draw her swords coming from her hips and pointed it to her face. Inomi wasn't in the mood for fighting.

"Look, I'm not here to fight.. just tell me what you're planning with Shizuma." She went straight to the point, making Buntan lower her weapon.

"You're also associated with him, huh? Haven't you heard, this is a declaration of war! Your poor little shinobis fighting for their lives.. while you're stuck with me!"

"That's enough.." Inomi kicked her abdomen when she was distracted. She rolled on the ground and stopped harshly at a wall.

"Hey... What's your problem Hidden Leaf kid?! Didn't you get what you asked for?!" She angrily said as she pointed raised her left hand to defend herself.

Inomi didn't budge as she glared at her with cold eyes. "I'm letting you off for now, Just a warning.."

The Yamanaka grabbed the blade of her sword and placed it down on the ground. She leaned forward to her ear.

"Don't mess with my students..."

Buntan widened her eyes in shock. "Now Scram."

She didn't hesitate to run while casting a Jutsu towards her body. "Thundering Funeral: Feast of lightning!"

Inomi took a big breathe while slowly performing hand signs, lightning bolts were getting closer to her direction.

"You're useless, you can't even dodge that move so easily!" Buntan cackled with a smirk on her face. "You'll be shocked in no time!"

"Fire style..." She muttered as she slowly inhaled air. "Fire ball Jutsu!"

She released a huge wave of heat, blocking the attack coming from Buntan. She gritted her teeth when she felt the warm sensation on her cheeks. Her attack is... Too hot to handle!

As the fire faded away. Buntan widened her eyes when she saw her eyes glowing white. "Ohoho, this is getting interesting!"

She threw one of her blades towards the Yamanaka as she swiftly dodged and caught it with her own hands. "I told you, I'm not here to fight." She stated with a glare. Buntan didn't dare to back down a challenge, which made her smile.

Inomi was not in the mood. She threw the blade back to Buntan and immediately threw 5 kunais with bombs attached to it.

"You're messing with me huh? Then get a taste of my anger!"

Buntan covered herself with her bare arms, gasping as she saw the kunais landing near her area.

"I SAID SCRAM!"

Without a sweat, Buntan ran away with quivering lips. She should've listened to Shizuma. "This girl..."

"She's hiding something powerful..."

That's where Inomi closed her eyes and fell hard on the floor. She fainted from exhaustion.

"Rest, my dear." Toneri said with a pained expression. He knew what he was doing. "I couldn't stand you getting hurt everytime..."

"Where am I, Toneri-Sama?" She quietly asked the Otsutsuki right Infront of her , meditating.

"Hm? I live inside of your head, this is where I usually stay.." He simply responded before closing his eyes, he didn't dare to notice any distractions.

Except for Inomi, of course.

"I can't move... Please let me be awake." She continued to convince the Man. "M-my students are in danger!"

"I am your host, and you cannot tell me what to do." He stated with a curt smile. She growled at him which made him press his lips into a thin line.

"They're fighting outside there! What if Boruto gets hurt, what if my brother gets injured what if---"

"Enough Inomi." He snapped on her which made her gasped in anger. "You can't tell me to do that, I have the right to protect them without your permission!"

"You're being stubborn.." He muttered as he stood up while approaching the numb Yamanaka. She glared at him.

"Oh am I? Well if you did let me go then I wouldn't be stuck with you! You're the one who's being selfish and made me suffer my childhood! I would've experienced the same life I wanted to have with my brother if you didn't die at the first place!"

....

Silence filled the air. Inomi's mouth was left hanging. She tried to reach out to the Otsutsuki Infront of her, clearly dissapointed. "H-hey I didn't mean that... I messed up..."

Toneri looked at her with pitiful eyes, oh how he didn't want to scold her. She was right infact, his unexpected death was the reason why she never experienced her dream life.

"You do know that you were going to die yesterday from the fight aren't you?" He asked her coldly. The Yamanaka kept silent, but began to speak once again.

"The Kunai was coated with Poison that it went through your vital points. I used up all my ninjutsu to help your body back in place..."

He placed his hand on her head with a worried expression. "I shouldn't say this but...

.

Am I not enough for you?... I-I'm tried my best to redeem myself as a father, you might be a reincarnation but that doesn't mean I won't treat you like one."

"W-what?..." She stuttered from his  statement. "..Me? Your... daughter's reincarnation?"

He nodded while turning away from her. "When I saw her within you.. I knew it was her. That's why.. I'm protecting you. Not because she's inside you... I'm trying to redeem myself.."

She nodded at him while looking at the side. "No need to feel sorry Inomi, you've convinced me enough to regain your consciousness." He stated with a smirk.

She smiled in excitement as she felt herself moving again. "A-ah Thank you Toneri-Sama! I won't let you down!"

He nodded in approval as he sat down in peace, once again.

"I'm counting on you, Inomi Yamanaka."

"....Silence." Inomi quietly pointed out the obvious. She started to work around the building as she was tracing Buntan's Footsteps.

"She could be somewhere, but not here." She groaned, probably regretting that she wasn't an Uchiha. No offense to my parents, they're quite awesome.....

She flickered at a place where she can feel traces of chakra around the area. The Yamanaka started to touch the floor and rubbed her fingers. "This is where Sarada and that Girl fought when I lost consciousness, it's still isn't faint.. That means they're near here.."

It's still early in the morning, well a few more minutes before 10am, what could go wrong?

She noticed burn marks and lightning hits around the walls. Expected from their fighting tactics. This would cause an explosion.

"Tick tock.."

Huh?

"...Ick Tock.." The voice repeated over and over. That means...

They're near. She furrowed her eyebrows, holding her weapon near to her chest, checking if she had any openings which she gladly didn't have one.

"...That Sharingan.. is Mine!" Buntan yelled with an evil smirk on her face. She ran to the Uchiha with two blades in her hand. Cutting up Sarada's palms.

Inomi tried not to scream her name, but managed to calm herself when she saw a little detail.

Of course, it's a trap. She trusts her friend to protect herself.

'Sarada' fell to the ground harshly as Buntan landed gracefully on water, still smirking at her own success.

"You leaf half-pints should've just stayed at the Academy and studied." She taunted the pained Uchiha who was gritting her teeth in anger. Her hair falling down to her face as she looked up the blonde.

Buntan slowly observed her evaporating, turning into water which made her shocked. "A genjutsu?... Since when?!"

"Oh my! You should've paid attention to the mist Buntan-San~" Inomi stepped out from her hiding spot as she teased the girl.

"Since when?! Where are you--" Her breathe hitched when she felt the cold blade near her neck, Inomi threw her tantō with a smile on her face. "You should know your limits, dear Shinobi."

"Sarada here is a great student of mine, yet she knows alot from Physics and Chemistry, like when something dangerous is fixated on water... Causes a very interesting reaction called Ionization!"

"W-what are you saying you psychopath!" Buntan stuttered, scared of every second that Inomi raises her voice.

Sarada on the other hand, stood beyond the mist as her red eyes were outstanding to see from a far distance. She took out a kunai with a paper bomb latched into it.

Buntan turned around to see the sharp object fall to the surface of the water, before facing Inomi back with a sadistic smile on her face.

"Bye-bye!"

BOOM.

~ Inomi slowly approached the body floating at water. Smiling at the sight of an unconscious Buntan. She took out the tantō away from her neck. "I'm not hesitate to kill someone, but I'll give you a chance."

Before Sarada could even move, her eyes were slowly drooping. Inomi caught her in time as she almost dropped on the stone.

"Ah, typical Sarada... I knew you couldn't survive a tough fight without me.." She whispered, making The Uchiha grunt in response.

"I'm kidding! I just miss you... Four eyes.." She mumbled off, drifting to sleep.

"SARADA..." Inomi groaned in frustration as she felt the heavy weight on her back. The Uchiha yawned, jolting up to see a cranky Inomi.

"Hey, let me go!" She yelled at her friend. Inomi rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out to the Uchiha.

"With pleasure!"

The Yamanaka smiled before dropping her on the ground. "Ow... Rude much.."

"Don't take it to heart Sarada, I'm just fooling with you." She snickered while pointing her finger to The Uchiha's glasses, lifting it up to her nose.

"Oh and, you have 5 minutes before the roll-call." She reminded her which made Sarada stood up quickly as possible. "Don't be late~"

"Yes, Sensei!"

"Typical Uchiha... Always modest." Inomi placed her hands on her hips before fleeing away.

"Kagura-Sama!" The Yamanaka waved at the Ash-Blonde guy who turned pink from her voice.

"Ah, Yamanaka-Chan. What brings you here? I thought you're about to leave?" He asked with confusion lacing his voice. Just then, She hugged him tight while chuckling at his reaction.

"Hm... I'm not gonna lie but I'll surely miss you and the Mist village, I hope we can meet soon with future errands!" Inomi politely said her goodbyes from him, which made him smile from her kindness.

"... Who could've thought that I've met a person like her..."

Watching her fade away from the view made his heart flutter. He was happy to meet her, a person he could rely on.

"If I lost control... And slaughtered everyone in this village...

  .

.

.... Would you stop me? Inomi Yamanaka?"

End of the Field Trip Arc.

This was another rushed chapter but, oh well! It is how it is!

Now you know a little reason Toneri chose her to be a Pawn of his Legacy, aka his own Vessel!

I'm trying to rush the story and connect it with the main plot because I'm currently left behind. I'm still in the beginning yet Boruto is already done with Kawaki's arc

I thought of skipping this School field trip arc but I couldn't resist making Kagura and Inomi meet.

Though I will be skipping the next few episodes after this and go straight to Chunin exam!

(This was Inomi's initial design from 3 years ago.

But I decided to change her clothes into a darker colour and make her hair move vibrant, the katana didn't fit her style at all so I eventually found out that Sai has a sword.... the uneven bangs weren't great at all so I changed it just like Ino's!)
