I started to get up to go through with my orders, the target quickly rushed out, "I freed the Winter Soldier, do you want to join him?"

When I stopped my advance, he continued, "He remembers who he is, and so can you,".

I blinked at him, my vision still slightly unfocused.

"We won't hurt you, my team and I. If anyone tries to they'll have to go through me first," he promised.

I was confused, my protocols did not cover this...

"What did they tell you to do? I have an idea..."

I guess I could see where this goes......I drove up to the base, Clint, as I learned his name was, was feigning sleep in the trunk and was also in handcuffs.

His plan was a stupid one, but it could work.

I got out and opened the trunk, dragging Clint inside the base.

My handler was waiting for me, I dropped Clint at his feet.

My handler backhanded me, "Why were you stopped for fifteen minutes three miles outside the base?!" He looked livid.

I was careful not to meet his eyes. I wasn't worthy of that. "Target awoke during transport. Orders were to bring target back unconscious."

He didn't seem satisfied with my answer, but he didn't think I could lie to him. That was his mistake.

"Pick him up and let's go,".

I did as he said and followed him down the hall.

We walked for less than five minutes before an explosion shook the base. Dust and small crumbs of the ceiling fell onto the ground.

My handler started to get nervous, "Shift into a horse, a fast and agile one," he ordered.

I dropped Clint and did as he said, turning into a dark colored thoroughbred horse.

I followed my handler to the gear room, leaving Clint in the hallway to escape.

My handler picked up a leather saddle and strapped it on me, without a saddle blanket. My back is going to be raw after this, was all I could think as he put a bridle on me as well.
