Chapter 10

KEIFER POV

It was a week after that phone call. I was now in New York and I waited and waited. I hadn't lost hope but I was hanging by a small string of it. It was now my 18th birthday. The day I was dreading. The day I wished everything would just be done with. I stood there, watching my relatives and the guest show up. I was dreading this day and it wasn't about the business talk. Because someone who was basically Devil was going to show up.

My father, the monster who killed my mother in front of my own two eyes. Abused me and my brothers for as long as my mother lived. Even after her death, he tried to take the inheritance of my brothers and I. He took Keigan's and left him with a personality disorder. He tried to take Keiren's but he was stopped because Jay had stood up for me. She protected him and challenged him. Now, I was in control. I was in full ownership of  my inheritance and I could use to destroy him if I wished.

I was also now placed as an executive of Watson Enterprises. I was supposed to lead the group but I had to go to University first. I watched my cousin, Clyde as he drank his champagne. He looked annoyed but I couldn't even enjoy it. Jay wasn't here and the party felt miserable without Section E. Yes, the Watsons know how to throw a party but there was nothing better than being with the people you love. Then, I saw a familiar face in the large crowd. Angelo. What did he want to do here?

I walked up to him as he grabbed a glass of wine.

"Mr Fernandez."I greeted, with a smile.

"Mr Watson. Congratulations on your 18th birthday."He said, with a smile. There was something wrong.

"Where's my gift?"I asked. If he was playing with me, I might as well too.

"I need a gift? You have everything."He smirked.

"I don't have the one I love."I repiled. I was trying to play with him but I was right.

"Well, you have to be patient and who knows she may just be around the corner." He repiled, taking a sip.

I took a glass of wine and drank it slowly. I watched around the room. So far so good. The guests were chatting away and the elders of the Watson family seemed to be enjoying themselves. Keigan and Keiren were in the Philippines under the care of the Hanamitchies. Yuri offered to look after them and I agreed. If I took them to London, they would be in danger.

"How is your company?"I asked Angelo.

"It's fine. We found an investor and closed a deal. We are slowly getting back on track. But enough about me, how have things been with you and your father?"Angelo asked.

When mum died, the first person I called was Angelo. The only person who could deal with my monster of a father, was Angelo. He was the reason that I got me and brothers out safely. He had always helped me but when his company was in need of help, I couldn't help him.

"He hasn't shown himself since the incident with him and Section E."I repiled. It was strange. I expected him to show up but with the party slowly ending, he hadn't. I was still on alert.

"That's good. I am going to leave. Happy birthday."Angelo said and walked out.

I continued drinking. I had to talk to many people, who congratulated me or asked me to meet their daughters. I am saved for someone else though, thank you very much.  But then I got a message. Meet me at the entrance.

I moved through the crowd immediately. I didn't care if I hit someone but I need to get to the entrance. The party was held in hall, away from the entrance but I got there as soon as possible.

And there she was, a shillotute, wrapped in a black cloth. The dress was flowy but you could see her every curve. Her small but powerful figure stood strong in the wind, showing how she held a small bump on her stomach. Her hair was caressed by the wind, the moonlight glowing on her face. She turned to look at me, expression stone cold.

"You came?"I said, breathless. Not just from running but from her.

"I had to."She said.

"Why did you leave? Why did you leave us? Section E? Me?"I asked. Tears formed in my eyes.

"Did I need a reason? You all used me to get revenge on my brother."She said, coldly.

"Please come back."I begged.

"I won't that is the end of it. Now you tell the rest of Section E to stop bothering my family. They apparently tried to beg my grandmother to tell them where I was."She said, looking at my face properly.

"I will but you have to stay first, please." I begged, holding on to her arm.

"Let go of me. You know better than me that your family is trying to kill me. You should leave me alone."She responded. She didn't however push my arm away.

"I'll protect you. Just stay with me."I begged, harder. My tears fell but I didn't wipe them.

"Let go of me. It's the best for you. But here."She gave me an envelope.  She pushed my hand away and then left in a car that had no number plate.

My tears fell harder as I sobbed. No one was in sight but I couldn't take a chance. I stumbled back into the building and went to the bathroom. I sobbed as much as I could. Why would she leave? When I wanted her? I stared at the envelope. My sobs had fell on it.

I opened it and shock covered my face when I saw it. An ultrasound. There was a small note at the back of it.

I'm doing this for you and the baby in me. Our child. We will see you soon. I'll tell you everything then.

I sobbed. She was carrying my child and being targeted by my family. Everything put on her. Everything because of me. Because my stupid actions. It affected the person I loved and the person I made with her.
