Chapter 5
20:03, 24 June 2025JAYJAY POV
It's only been a week since I went back to school, and I am exhausted. From Section E's attempts at trying to win me over and Cyrus' family continuing to threaten me, I've been exhausted. I maintained contact with Percy still. My family is the only thing keeping me sane. But there is always a breaking point. Fernandez Corp is still on the verge of going bankrupt and since I broke the engagement, Brother has been even more stressed.
Yesterday, he came drunk and started yelling. Aries and Auntie were trying to calm him down and I was trying to calm my son. But he was crying and repeating the same thing,"I'm sorry Ma. I failed you, this family. Everything."He said, sobbing into Auntie's hug. Auntie was crying too and I could see tears forming in Aries' eyes. I can't. My whole family is breaking and it's all my fault. If I hadn't gotten pregnant, I could have married Yuri and the situation would have been better. Trust me, I am so happy that I have a son but seeing how I have broken my family by just a stupid mistake I made, I couldn't take it.
When everyone was asleep, I started packing. I am leaving from this place, from my family, from people I considered as real family. I packed everything, from my favourite clothes and all of Gab's toys all in a suitcase. I had to walk downstairs to leave so I put Gab into the baby carrier. I didn't really take him anywhere other than the doctor and the occasional park but this time there was no coming back here. I didn't leave a message or note and just left.
I threw my phone in a bush when I was far away from Auntie's house. I wanted to turn back, I wanted to. But I don't want to trouble anyone. Gab was slowly going to start waking up so I went to a nearby phone booth and called Percy. I had to be discreet since there were people out there trying to find me because I was Keifer's 'girlfriend'. Like excuse me, that asshole?
["Hello?"Percy said, sleepily.]It was late at night but I had no choice.
"P-Percy..."I said, but I could manage to speak.
["Sis, what's wrong?"Percy asked.]I then broke down explaining everything, from my frustrations to my problems affecting the people around me. Percy listened and through the phone, I could hear his comfort.
["Sssh, It's okay. I'll come take you. Your daddy was planning to come tomorrow but I'll take you instead. Wait, there"Percy responded.]
I waited and started humming to Gab. I hummed my favourite song. Someone sang that song to me as a kid and I've loved it every since. It was also Gab's favourite thing to fall asleep too. The song was a made up song but I loved all the more.
Percy came in 10 minutes and took the sleeping Gab from my carrier. I put all of the luggage into the car. Percy drove us and he started saying all his awful dad jokes to lighten the mood. They weren't helping because I wanted to slam my face into a window.
"I have a joke."Percy said.
"What?"I repiled.
"What do you call an egg test?"
"What?"
"An egg-xam!"He said, laughing at his own joke. Why did I have such a stupid older brother?
"That's a stupid joke."I said.
"Oi! I thought you missed your handsome brother."He said.
"I'll miss everyone here."I said, sadly. I will. I'll miss Auntie who always helped me and looked after me. I'll miss Grandma who raised me and my child. I'll miss Brother's sermons and I'll miss Aries because we could have made up later. Heck, I'll even miss the snakes or what they were. I even miss their King. How he never judged me, how he just wanted me safe. But the world isn't sunshine and rainbows.
"I know you will, but you can always visit."Percy said.
We arrived at the Manila Airport where we had to board Percy's private jet. Gab didn't have a passport but Percy managed to get one in time. And I brought my own. I didn't really travel but sometimes Grandma would take me across the Philippines.
As we got seated for take off, I sat with Gab in my arms and watched as we left the Philippines. We were on the plane for a while so Percy took over playing with Gab. I went to the bathroom. I felt a bit sick. Probably because I left without eating anything. I did eat in the plane. I also had to breastfeed in the plane. Percy went to grab food for me and waited until I finished. But I still didn't understand why I felt sick. I then threw up in the toilet. It could be that I didn't move around much.
"Baby Sis! We are going to land, come quickly!"Percy said.
"Coming!"I said. I washed my mouth. Everything would be better when I got to land.
I sat back in my seat where Percy was trying to get Gab to sit properly.
"Give him to me."I said, reaching for Gab.
"He's my nephew, I should be good at this."Percy muttered.
"Well, you can have practice later."I repiled, taking Gab and placing him with me.
"Ma!"He said, while sitting with me. I showed him the buildings and he kept hitting the window. We arrived and got out of the plane
We got out of the jet and made our way to customs. We passed the Security check and we went to go eat. I was feeling really hungry and I could see the dark circles on Percy's face. We got a two coffees and burgers. I breastfeed first in the bathroom and then ate. It was so good.
We got out of the airport where I saw Papa. Percy was holding Gab so I ran to Papa.
"Papa!"I yelled, running to Papa.
"My daughter!"He said, trapping me in a large hug. He planted kisses on my head. I was here. I was with my Papa. Finally.
"Who is this handsome boy?!"Papa said, pulling Percy into a hug.
"Thank you, Uncle Jaspher. I missed yo-"Percy said, but Papa went to grab Gab instead. I had told Percy to tell Papa because my phone for some reason didn't allow Papa as a contact.
"My grandson looks adorable. He looks a lot like you."He said, kissing Gab's face. Gab was just laughing.
"And that God for that. Her ex is so ugly. My nephew really got his mother's genes."Percy said.
"Come now. You must be tired."Papa said, walking towards a car. Thank Papa for that. I still felt sick so I was ready to sleep at any minute.
I was finally going to start a new life. With my son, with Papa and Percy. I will still visit my family but I should straighten my life first.
