Unity

Katniss readied her shot as she looked at the distant trio emerging from the forest onto the coast. Peeta and Finnick both raised their weapons and placed themselves behind the leaves near their location. Who was the incoming party? Was Butch one of them? Finnick needed answers as he gazed intently onto the area.
It was Johanna. Smothered in dried blood, as she guided Beetee and Wiress out and into the water in order to clean themselves of the stains.
'Johanna!' Finnick was thrilled to see one of his closest friends alive, it was a comfort that he certainly needed after the loss of Mags. He abandoned his position as he jogged over to her direction as she shouted his name in response.
'Well, I got them out. We were all the way deep into the jungle where I thought it was going to be safe. That's when the rain started, I thought it was water, turns out to be blood. Hot. Thick. Blood. It was coming down, it was choking us- we stumbling around gagging on it blind. That's when Blight hit the force field, he wasn't much but he was from home.' Johanna was desperate to vent her frustrations to her friend, the Capitol was trying to make a mockery of them. A spectacle. Tensions were already high and Wiress' continuing comments were not helping causing her to snap as an altercation between Katniss and her occurred.
'I got them out, for you!' Finnick was holding a tight grip as he moved her into the water both for her sake and the security of the agreement. Johanna broke free as she reassured him she was fine. Both her and Finnick had something occupying both their minds- someone was missing from the group.
'Have you seen him?' Finnick weakly spoke as he hoped Johanna would have spotted Butch by now. 'I heard a cannon earlier, you don't think...'
'No. He couldn't have, not without a fight anyway. We just have to hope that wherever he is, they are safe. We will find him Finnick. I'm sure.'

Butch was stumbling his way through the forest, slowly circling the arena in a clockwise manner unaware that this was saving him from the many hazards within each wedge. His injury was throbbing, weighing him down every 10 minutes as he stopped to regain his strength. His eyes were still burning as waves of grief and tears washed over him across his journey- he was lucky to still have a knife from the previous altercation. A weapon he intended to return to Gloss, one way or another.
A bone chilling scream echoed through the empty space- Butch snapped his head forward, hoping that Johanna was not the originator of the sound. He had realised that wasn't the case as the sounds of breakages followed soon after. A tsunami. It burst through the wedge killing whichever tribute was found within it. Butch hoped it wasn't one of the careers- he wanted their deaths to be by his hand.
He hoped that opportunity would come soon but for now, he was better regrouping with his allies- if they were even still alive.
As time continued, Butch moved his path close to the coast, in an attempt to see any groups of tributes. That search would soon be successful as he found himself staring at the collective might of Finnick, Johanna, Beetee, Wiress, Katniss and Peeta, all talking as they made their way across a stone spoke towards the cornucopia.
'What are you doing?' Butch softly muttered, he couldn't understand why they would be heading to the most risky place in the arena where the careers were almost guaranteed to be nearby. Either way, he found his allies and he needed them more than ever as his wound continued to sting. He began his approach to the cornucopia, travelling along a nearby spoke.
He clutched tightly onto his injury as he stepped closer towards them, ready to shout in order to get their attention- that was until he realised something was off about this situation. He looked out into the water that surrounded him to realise small tremors were escaping to the surface, something below was causing this, something that was moving, fast.
Before he could begin to process what the reason for this may be, Gloss leapt out from the water, inserting his blade into the neck of Wiress.
Butch was infused with rage. His target was vulnerable and with the death of another ally, this fuelled his fury more.
'Finnick!' Butch called out a warning to alert the group of the situation. They all turned with Katniss plucking an arrow from her quiver ready to align a shot. She wouldn't even have time to make it.
Gloss slowly turned to try and see who was behind him but it was too late for both him and Wiress. Butch withdrew the dagger he retrieved from his sister's body and thrusted it into the assailant's neck.
He firmly twisted it deeper into his neck as blood sprayed onto his face. He slowly moved his mouth to his victims ear before the words:
'A sibling, for a sibling.'
Escaped from the males mouth. Revenge. How nice it felt to finally achieve that.
Finnick ushered Katniss to not shoot Butch, she wouldn't need to spend much time lowering her weapon before she was pushed to the ground by Johanna who threw her axe deep into the chest of Cashmere.
A cluster of cannons rang out, emphasising the war cry that emitted from the mouth of Brutus as the district 2 pairing snuck up behind the group.
Finnick valiantly fought the incoming attacks as Butch removed the knife and advanced towards the group to support their defence. This advancement would be cut short however as the arena would quickly shift beneath him.
Surges of waves originated around him as Butch fell to his stomach due to the loss of balance. He lodged his remaining knife into the rocks in an attempt to keep himself on the spoke. Each tribute held on for their lives but Katniss was pulled under, Butch was ready to move into the water in order to rescue her but that wouldn't be needed as the spinning ceased.
The tributes all stood as Johanna and Peeta moved towards Katniss who was regaining her breath. Finnick sprinted towards Butch who didn't have the strength to push himself up.
'Thank god. Are you okay?' Finnick didn't want to admit it but he thought he'd lost his best friend, a fear that he was glad to die off.
'Are the two safe?' Butch knew he wasn't the priority, the district 12 duo were and if they were fine then the others could be attended to.
'They're fine. Here let me help you up.' Finnick slipped his arm under Butch and lifted him from the floor. Butch yelled out in pain as the muscles beneath his wound pulled from the force.
'Holy shit. What happened?' Finnick finally spotted the wound that was causing him so much pain. Butch was going to respond but he felt his conscientiousness slipping away from him, he was exhausted after all and now he knew he was safe, his body finally weakened their grip. He went limp in Finnicks arms as Johanna made her way over. The two looked gravely at the other, realising there was no sign of his sister anywhere but they knew they had to act fast in order to save their friend.
'Let's just get what we need and get off the bloody island.'
The golden alliance was finally unified.
