JayJay's pov
Well me and keifer were busy doingUhh something when we heard-
The whistle blew so hard it felt like it pierced my soul.
“TIME!” the PE teacher shouted.
Everyone froze.
Except Section E.
“THE KISS DIDN’T COUNT IF THE GAME IS OVER!” Eman yelled.
“It still counts emotionally!” Felix cried.
“I SAW THE ANGLE!” Rory argued. “IT WAS A SOLID EIGHT OUT OF TEN!”
I let go of Keifer so fast I almost dislocated my own arm.
My face was on FIRE.
“What are you all even doing?!” I yelled.
“LIVING,” Ci-N said calmly, throwing an arm around His grandma I am talking about david btw
. “We’re living through your love life.”
“CI-N, YOU’RE A TRAITOR!” I snapped.
This batang kumang is soo dead
He grinned. “Always have been.”
Keifer leaned toward me again. “So… that was kiss number—”
“Don’t count,” I warned.
He laughed under his breath, and I hated that it did something stupid to my heart.
Yuri walked past us then.
No drama. No comment.
Just one quiet look at me.
And I don’t know why—but my chest tightened.
---
By the time we reached the classroom, the chaos had mutated.
Our adviser hadn’t even arrived yet, but there was already a giant word written on the board in ugly chalk:
CAMPING TRIP.
The room exploded.
“CAMPING?!” Felix gasped. “IN NATURE?! WITH BUGS?!”
“WE’RE GONNA DIE!” Jasper yelled.
“Relax,” Drew muttered. “It builds character.”
“I DON’T WANT CHARACTER, I WANT WIFI!” Eman shouted.
Ci-N jumped on top of a chair. “ATTENTION, POOR PEOPLE. If I die in the woods, make sure my abs are remembered.”
“You don’t even have abs,” Calix said flatly.
“EXACTLY. THAT’S THE TRAGEDY.”
Our adviser sir alvin finally walked in and slammed the table.
“Section E. Silence.”
Nothing happened.
“THE CAMPING TRIP IS MANDATORY,” he added.
Everything died immediately.
Mandatory.
That word hurts differently.
He started assigning groups.
While remembered about our previous camping trip...From where everything went down the drain and got flushed...
Stop jay stop thinking about the past!
You have changed and so did everyone else so stop thinking about the toxic past!
And ....
That’s when things turned evil.
“Jay Jay, Keifer, Yuri, Felix, Ci-N, and david—Group One.”
The universe is sick.
Felix fainted.
Ci-N laughed like a villain.
Eman high-fived nobody.
Keifer leaned close to my ear. “Looks like destiny.”
Yuri didn’t react.
Which somehow felt louder.
---
Planning time was a warzone.
“WE NEED FOOD,” Felix cried.
“WE NEED WEAPONS,” david argued.
“We need tissue for Felix,” Ci-N added.
I was writing everything down like my life depended on it when Keifer leaned into my shoulder on purpose.
“Personal space,” I warned.
“What if I like invading it?”
I nudged him with my elbow.
He nudged back.
Yuri watched the whole thing quietly.
Then finally—
“I’ll bring the tent,” Yuri said.
I froze.
Keifer paused too.
Their eyes met.
The air shifted.
“Oh?” Keifer said lightly. “You sure you can handle that alone?”
Yuri’s jaw tightened. “I don’t need help.”
Keifer smiled. “Didn’t say you did.”
And just like that—the tension was back.
Ci-N leaned over to me. “well, this camping trip is either gonna be romantic… or someone’s gonna end up in a body bag.”
“Why not both?” Eman said.
“STOP PLANNING MY TRAUMA,” I snapped.
---
After class, I tried to escape alone.
Didn’t work.
Keifer caught me near the stairs again.
“You’re avoiding me,” he said.
“I’m busy.”
“With what?”
“With not dying at camp.”
He laughed. “You’ll be with me.”
“That doesn’t help.”
He stepped closer. “You’re safe with me.”
My heart betrayed me instantly.
Before I could reply—
“Jay.”
Yuri again.
I swear this man has dramatic timing installed at birth.
He stood a few steps away, hands in his pockets.
“You forgot your notebook.”
I realized my hands were empty.
“Oh—thanks.”
He handed it to me carefully.
Keifer watched.
Silent.
Too silent.
Yuri looked at him. Then back at me.
“We should talk later,” Yuri said quietly.
My chest tightened again.
Keifer’s hand brushed mine instinctively—possessive, protective.
Yuri saw it.
Something dark flickered in his eyes.
And for the first time since everything started…
I felt it.
This camping trip?
It wasn’t going to be normal chaos.
It was going to change something.
Big time.
