Lover Sacrificed - Chapter 51

22:40, 24 October 2014

Darius held his breath and most of the brothers could not hide their surprise.

Wrath hesitated for all of a second, while he looked in his direction.

- I suggest you take note of your son King Wrath, and start to trust me.

She arched a brow and his father quickly moved to obey, though he did not look happy with what he had to do. He dematerialized right behind Feron, grabbed his neck, and before he could snap it, the Scribe Virgin stopped him.

- Wait.

What the fuck? Darius’ mind was reeling – why was she doing this?

- I think, before I let you do that, Feron should know exactly how his daughter messed up his masterplan. Now Penehlope, would you like to tell them, or should I?

- I don’t know what you are talking about. You’re crazy, you know that?

The brothers groaned and Darius just hung his head.

- My patience is running very thin with you, little girl. Do not make things harder on yourself by disrespecting me.

Penehlope was fuming, but wisely kept her mouth shut.

- Now, let’s do this point by point, shall we? Number one, the transition. All good, Darius was called, Pelehlope survived. Number two, the mating shall be set 5 years after the transition, as we are all here, we can all confirm this point is being met as we speak. Number three, the feeding. I confirm this was done, except for a few times where Darius got injured during a fight and he had no choice but to feed of someone else. Now, here is where things start to become really interesting. Penehlope, can you tell us if there has been another male you have been feeding from?

- No.

Her reply was just a little too quick and a little too intense. The Scribe Virgin just shook her head.

- Your parents really did not raise you well, did they. Don’t you know you are not supposed to lie? Especially to me.

Her voice was like ice and Darius really had to do his best not to cringe.

- Lets continue with number 4, which was the newling and needing part. And here my warriors and shellans, is where little Penehlope really dug her own grave.

- I don’t know what you are talking about.

- No one asked you.

Darius felt this odd sense of calm wash over him. Penehlope would never survive today and he would finally be free of her. He could be with Nalla and live his last few years by her side. He could not wait to go to her. She would be devastated to know, but, he could make her happy, for a few years, he could make her happy. Maybe he’d make it to her next needing so he could leave a little piece of himself behind, so she would not mourn him too much.

He was looking forward to end this already. He was itching to go look for her right now, but he knew better than to disrespect the Scribe Virgin. And if he was really honest with himself, he was a bit curious to see where this ended.

- Your needing hit you two months ago, Penehlope.

Darius whipped his head to the right to look at Penehlophe in astonishment.

- Yeah, so?

Oh man, this girl was beyond stupid with her questions. The Scribe Virgin would have her head as soon as she was done with her. Darius was actually shocked to see that she was lasting so long after having offended her so much.

Everyone gasped loudly, though if it was at the Scribe Virgin’s comment or Penehlope’s question, he didn’t know.

- Penehlope, daughter of Feron, had her needing and was serviced. But, unlike the clause stipulated, the male doing the servicing, was not Darius, son of Wrath, it was Vix, son of Vixar.

Penehlope looked down, embarrassed, for the first time all evening.

- Penehlope, he’s your cousin! How could you!?

Darius should be shocked. Surprised. Disgusted even. But all he could think about was how in a couple of hours, when this was over, he would be with his Nalla.

- Yes, it wasn’t an innocent sleepover they had, Feron. Your daughter is no longer a newling. She also fed from him, as he fed from her, and was even pregnant for a week. Until she lost the child because of her irresponsible behavior.

All around, the brotherhood started whispering and murmuring. Darius just whispered one thing.

- Thank you Scribe Virgin. Thank you.

He could feel his father’s desperation rolling off him in waves, as he knew just as well as Darius, that no ceremony meant no antidote. He just hoped his father didn’t lose it and forgot the rules where the Scribe Virgin was concerned. Desperation made a male forget some important shit. And he could not afford to piss the Scribe Virgin off. Not now. Not when he was so close to getting his life back, if only for a little while.
