Chapter 22
12:50, 12 January 2021"How long?" Sage asked in joyful surprise. "My whole life." He flushed red in embarrassment. "You've loved me your whole life?" She covered her mouth. "Yes, I know. It's pathetic." He sighed.
"No, Ced. I think that's the sweetest thing you've ever told me." she planted a soft kiss on his lips. "When did you realise you loved me?" He cupped her face. He wanted to hear her talk about him with admiration, he wanted to hear her say again, that she loved him.
"I don't know. Perhaps forever, perhaps it's only been since our trip to Italy, but, one thing is for certain. I've always cared more deeply for you than anyone else in my life, and I was never able to understand it until now." She smiled.
"What will Harper think?" Cedric asked as they made their way back to the common room, hands intertwined. "I think he'll be happy for us. I returned his heart." She informed him.
"You what?" Cedric frowned. "Never mind." She laughed. "Harper understands we aren't meant for one another. Perhaps he and Jill would make a nice couple." Sage shrugged.
"Why not Olive?" Cedric laughed. "Because Rowan and Olive are so obviously meant for one another." Sage scoffed and Cedric pushed her shoulder playfully. "I was really worried you were in love with him." Cedric changed tones. "I was never in love with him. It was simply attraction." She assured him. "At that Ravenclaw party.. I was so sure." Cedric's voice trailed off.
"I was trying to make you jealous." Sage rolled her eyes. "I didn't feel anything for Harper then." She paused. "How cruel of me." She sighed sadly. "I hurt the both of you on the way to achieving my own selfish goals."Β
"How is it fair that you've done nothing wrong, you've simply misunderstood. And, yet, I've been constantly angry with you, blaming you." Sage continued as they reached the common room. "I'm so sorry, Ced. I never wanted to hurt you."
"Please don't apologise, you've misunderstood too. I'm overjoyed that you feel the same way as I do, and nothing bad that happened before today means anything to me anymore." Cedric squeezed his hand affectionately.
As they entered the common room, Sage was met with a dilemma. "Cedric." She whispered. "Are you my boyfriend?" She flushed red, it felt like a silly question, but her friends would surely question their sudden closeness. Sage didn't want to lie, but she didn't know what to label them.
Cedric stopped and thought for a moment. "Will you be my boyfriend?" Sage bit her lip in embarrassment. "I'd love to." He grinned, and kissed her again. "OLIVE!"Β
Cedric and Sage pulled their lips apart at the sudden outburst, turning to face Jill, who was pointing at them in utter disbelief. She looked as if Merlin had come back from the dead, but it was only the sight of her two friends kissing.
"What?" Olive trudged unhappily down the stairs, she was greatly fatigued from being in the sun all day. "SAGE AND CEDRIC JUST- JUST.. KISSED!" Jill didn't move, she simply stared at them in awe.Β
Sage and Cedric looked at one another, both evidently holding back a laugh. "We're dating." Cedric beamed with pride, taking Sage's hand again and kissing her on the cheek. "Oh. my. god." Olive looked on the verge of passing out.
"It's finally happened." Olive wandered closer to them, as if she didn't quite believe they were really there. "Jilly.... Jilly, it's finally happened." Olive retreated, grabbing Jill's arm to support herself from falling over.
"You guys are so dramatic." Sage laughed.Β
----
It was the day before the end of school. All exams had been cancelled and majority of the professors were off school grounds searching for an explanation to the events of the Triwizard Tournament.
They had found half an explanation in Barty Crouch Jr, before the Minister of Magic ordered the dementors kiss on him, but they were yet to find the location that the portkey would have led them to.
Due to the absence of so many teachers, two classes were put together during each lesson, and so the dungeons, during one potions double, was found to be extremely packed. "There's not enough room, i've told you already." Harper tried to fend off a trio of Ravenclaw boys, who insisted on sitting at their bench, seeing as the rest of the class was filled.Β
"There's room right there." One of the boys frowned, pointing in between Jill and Olive. "Of course there's room, but not enough without us all being squished." Harper clarified in agitation. "Do you want to skip?" Cedric whispered to Sage as their friends continued to argue with the Ravenclaw boys.Β
"Skip? Cedric, I didn't think you had it in you." Sage teased. "It's too crowded." Cedric sighed. "And most of the Slytherins are gone, why not us, too?" He took her hand and tugged her towards the exit.Β
Sage sent a glance to the front of the classroom where Professor Flitwick was attempting to quieten the class. "Where are we going?" Sage skipped along side Cedric. "To the roof."Β
"The roof?" Sage laughed. "Why?" They made their way out of the school, wandering over to the Quidditch pitch. "This isn't the roof." Sage frowned. "We need to get up there." Cedric grabbed two brooms when they reached the locker room.
The two of them climbed onto their brooms, and shot off towards the school roof. "So why are we here, again?" Sage climbed off her broom and sat beside Cedric. "Just, because?" Cedric shrugged. Though he clearly just wanted to spend some quality time alone with his girlfriend.Β
"I wonder if the others would have realised we're gone by now." Sage rested her head on Cedric's shoulder. "Probably not, they're probably still arguing with those Ravenclaws."Β
And so the two lovers spent the rest of the afternoon in discussion, until eventually the sun began to set and the world grew darker. "Dinner will be starting." Sage pointed out. "Do you want to go?" Cedric asked. "Not really." She shrugged. "I don't either."
Cedric wrapped an arm around Sage's waist, kissing her on the top of her head. "I love you." Sage smiled up at him, and he leaned down to kiss her. "I love you too." He pulled away for a moment, before reconnecting their lips.
Cedric brought his other hand to her waist as she turned her body to face him, making it easier for them to kiss. The couple had never gone farther than a short make-out, never more than ten seconds. So when Sage found that Cedric was not pulling away from her, and the kiss was beginning to exceed a whole minute, she grew nervous.
Sage became increasingly more aware of his hands on her waist, and was unable to divert her thinking from it, when his hands began to move. It wasn't a long or aggressive movement, they simply slid a little lower than they usually would.Β
The feeling of the roof's hard tiles beneath her no longer bothered her, she was too focused on trying to remain calm. She did not know how far this would go.
Suddenly Cedric's thumb gently caressed her waist, and she flinched as it met with the front of her hips. She was far more sensitive than she usually was. A blush crept up on her cheeks as she tried to play off her reaction to his movement, but he had noticed.Β
Cedric pulled away from her unexpectedly, and studied her for a moment. "I'm sorry." He dropped his gaze to the tiles, clearly ashamed by his actions. "Sorry? No- no, don't be." Sage's face grew even hotter.
They both paused, unsure of what they were to do now. "..May I?" Cedric broke the silence, cupping the side of her face with one of his hands. Sage nodded, her eyes flickering down to his lips, before he leaned in, and they began to kiss again.Β
There was a hint of uncertainty in their kiss, but as Cedric's hand resumed their position on her waist, all cautiousness evaporated into the late evening air. Sage had hope that perhaps he'd lower his hands a little further, and touch her in the same spot, but when he didn't, she felt that she must be the one to do something.Β
Sage thought hard as they kissed, she was far too nervous to do anything crazy, she simply wanted to provoke him a little. So Sage, to Cedrics surprise, bit gently on his bottom lip. A simple act, but quite affective.Β
Cedric's hands instantly tightened on her hips, and he let slip an almost inaudible groan, but Sage caught it. The sound he had emitted and harshness of his hands on her waist aroused her, and she slid her fingers tips into his hair.Β
Cedric released her waist, and brought his hand to her outer leg. He placed a hand on her thigh and pulled gently, as if urging her to climb into his lap. A shiver ran down Sage's spine at the contact, and she obliged.
She gripped his shoulders, pulling herself onto his lap so her legs were on either side of his. Cedric smiled into the kiss at her movement, and she was immediately satisfied with herself for doing it.Β
Sage returned her hands to his hair, and Cedric brought his fingers up to her shirt unbuttoning the first one, before Sage pulled away. Cedric immediately decided he had made a mistake, and began to apologise profusely.Β
"No, Cedric.. It's just.. We're on a roof.." Sage chuckled. "Oh- Right." He smiled sheepishly, and Sage pulled herself from his lap. "Do you want to.. go somewhere?" Her cheeks grew pink again. Cedric hid his grin, taking her hand and leading her to the edge of the roof, where they flew back down on their broomsticks.Β
"Where are we going?" Sage followed alongside Cedric as he led her up a few flights of stairs. "You'll see." He squeezed her hand lovingly as they reached the seventh floor. "The room of requirements?" Sage laughed, she couldn't help it. The whole situation seemed almost silly.
As the door to the room began to materialise, Sage was embarrassed that the room had deemed their desires great enough for it to appear. Cedric stepped forward, pushing the door open and leading Sage inside.Β
It was much smaller than she'd expected, seeing as the doors were so large. The room had taken the shape of Cedric's bedroom. It was not small, but not overly large. "Oh." Sage cocked her eyebrows, but Cedric pretended he hadn't heard her.
Sage kicked her shoes off, and went and sat on the bed. She was eager to continue what they had started on the roof, but also feeling quite uneasy. When Cedric came over to where she sat, she allowed him to pull her back onto his lap, where they resumed their actions.
Sage was feeling more confident now, and took another step further. She brought her hand up to his tie, and wrapped it around her index finger, tugging on it eagerly. Cedric's hands flew to her shirt, unbuttoning the rest of the buttons and pulling it off.
Though Sage had had hoped he'd do something like this, now that the moment had come, she was not so sure. She began to feel insecure and vulnerable. All her negative emotions seemed to swell inside of her, before quickly dispersing at Cedric's next movement.Β
He retreated his lips from hers, and instead, moved them to her collarbone. Leaving sweet kisses and love bites all the way down to her breasts. By this time, Sage had removed Cedric's tie and shirt, and both were eager for more.Β
"Cedric.." Sage gripped his shoulders more tightly as he continued to kiss her body, his hands wandering her back. Cedric grew tense as she used his name, and then, he decided it was time for another step.Β
Cedric kissed her one more time on the cheek, before crawling to the centre of the bed and placing her on her back beneath him. Sage felt a surge of excitement shoot though her at this, and she propped herself up on her elbows to kiss him.Β
Cedrics hands slid out from underneath her, and found their way to her skirt. He pulled away from her lips, and looked at her for a moment. "Can I?" He tugged gently on her skirt, and she nodded.Β
Her nod was encouragement enough for Cedric, and so he removed her skirt, along with the rest of his clothing, excluding his boxers. They stared at each other for a minute longer, catching their breath and admiring the others features. When the minute was up, Cedric slowly and cautiously brought his fingers beneath her underwear. Once again, asking her permission.Β
"Please." She sighed eagerly, and he pulled them off, along with his own boxers. Cedric positioned himself at her entrance, but a sudden outburst from Sage caused him to hault. "Cedric- I." She swallowed.Β
"Does it hurt?" She furrowed her eyebrows anxiously. "Not badly, and it'll only be for the first few moments, I believe." Cedric smiled kindly, finding that her distress only added to her attractiveness. It was adorable.Β
He waited for her response, and when she nodded, he entered her. Sage inhaled sharply as he came inside of her, dropping her head back onto the mattress as pain welled within her. It wasn't terrible pain, but it was in a place she had never felt pain in before, so she was sensitive to it.Β
"I'm sorry." Cedric whispered, crossing his fingers over hers to hold her hand. He waited a couple more moments until the pained expression on her face ceased, and he began to move again. At the first thrust, Sage winced, and Cedric stopped again. "Do you want to stop?" He asked.
"No- please, keep going." She squeezed his hand, and he continued. After a coupe more, the pain was exchanged for pleasure, and Sage was in ecstasy. "Are you okay?" Cedric asked though heavy breathing.Β
"Yes.." She closed her eyes tightly, tugging on his hair and moaning softly into his ear. "Sage.." Cedric groaned as they both began to reach their climax. Sage brought her hands to his back, digging her nails in as her pleasure reached its capacity, along with Cedric's.
Cedric groaned as they both released, and the sound was euphoric to her ears. Cedric pulled out of Sage and let go of her hand so he could lay beside her. "Was that okay?" He asked her. "Okay?" Sage laughed. "That was more than okay."
