Embarrassing

When Draco arrived at the Ministry, he sped through the crowd and practically ran to the Aurors' offices. He passed the other workers, all with a painful stitch growing in his side. Once on his floor, he grabbed the back of a chair and looked at the ground, completely out of breath.

"Hey! Is uh-" He looked up, and Ron and Harry were gaping at him, alarmed.

"Malfoy, are you okay?" Ron asked timidly.

Draco finally started to breathe better. "Uh, yeah, is--"

Just then, Hermione walked around the corner and stopped when she saw Draco sweating and staring at her.

"What's going on? Are you okay, Malfoy?" She asked, walking closer to him.

"Yes, I'm okay. Are you? You disappeared," he said as he walked over to his desk, but didn't sit down. Hermione was now standing at her own desk, staring at him.

Harry and Ron were bewildered and in awe as they witnessed Draco caring about the wellbeing of Hermione.

"No," she answered, sitting down in her chair. "I'm fine. I just got notified that I had a message."

He wanted to know who the message was from. Who would be the one who would have made her leave? He didn't ask, knowing it was none of his business.

"Oh, I just didn't know if something had happened."

"Nope," she answered. The silence was palpable.

"Okay, gooooood," he replied and sat down, not knowing what to do. He stood up a second later. "I'm going to go talk to Westerson and see if I can turn in that paperwork to him." He picked up the papers he needed.
