And so he wanted to correct them, once and for all. And this is what he did.
Foxes POV (because why not)
They all watched as the boy in black yawned wide. He seemed to take down his wall for a moment. They could all see quite clearly that he was thinking hard about something. He didn't look angry like he used to. Or blank faced like he used to.
He turned to the red head beside his and whispered something. Neil's eyes became as wide as tennis balls. Blue ones that is. After a moment, he, in return, nodded slowly.
They all watched as if it was in slow motion as the strong, apathetic, talented, closed off, supposedly sociopathic boy blinked, and then rested his blond head of hair on his boyfriend's shoulder. And then he promptly fell back asleep.
Neil's POV
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.
His thoughts were racing so fast, that if they were spoken, he would sound like the side effects voice over in a medicine commercial.
What is going on, Andrew never shows affection then again I'm not complaining, I kind of like his head there. Should I move? I mean he did say "Yes or No" before hand, but were surrounded by our teammates, is he really okay with this? Maybe he was sleepy and didn't notice them... nope that's not like Andrew he always assesses every situation before acting on anything. Then again, he has been in a bit of a funk recently so maybe it's possible. No, again it just isn't Andrew. Shit, what the actual fuck should I do? Just sit here? The Foxes are staring bug eyed. Maybe they aren't so oblivious after all. But still what is he thinking right now? I'm fine with it, but a few days ago, he would have pushed me away, or punched me, one of the two. He would have stalked away into our room and slammed the door. He would have pointed a knife at the others and told them to fuck off if they asked him about it. But now I'm doubting even the basics of Andrew's actions-
"Stop thinking and let me sleep. I'm tired Junkie, so either enjoy it or you can sleep outside tonight."
The comment was short, and quiet but it made the static buzzing in Neil's head stop immediately. He decided on the former, relaxing his body.
Andrew leaned more on him and brought his knees up to rest on Neil's thighs. He was practically sitting in Neil's lap now, and the static started right on up again.
After a few minutes of this, a knock on the door startled everyone from their stunned silence. The knob turned and Abby walked in.
The look in her eyes was frantic, clearly someone had done a shit job of telling her what was going on. You could tell she thought someone was either dead, or almost there. When she recognized that everyone was present and very much alive, she relaxed her tense expression. But then she noticed the elephant in the room.
Abby did a brilliant job of imitating the other Foxes with here wide eyed expression. Her expression changed to one of concern as she took a few hesitant steps foreword and spoke.
"... Andrew? Are you... okay?"
Nicky, being the clumsy little shit he was stood and said.
"Of course he is! Why wouldn't he be? Have you ever known Andrew not to be okay?!!"
Andrew's eyebrows scrunched together and dug his head farther into Neil's shoulder. You could tell Dan was about to ream Nicky for practically shouting but Neil vetoed that with a sigh.
He whispered in Andrew's ear, and as instructed, Andrew looped his arms around Neil's neck. Neil then reclaimed the position he was in during their walk home, and hooked his arms under Andrew's back and legs. He lifted Andrew and brought him through the many doorways to their rooms, kicking aside alcohol bottles as he walked.
How everyone is acting so sober while so wasted, I have no idea. He thought. Except for Nicky. He's most definitely not out of his drunken state yet.
When they reached the room Andrew had completely relaxed into Neil's arms. He wasn't asleep. With all those eyes on him and such, of course he wasn't. And Neil had known, but he did know that Andrew was sleepy, that yawn wasn't exactly fake. And so, in true boyfriend fashion, he was bringing Andrew to bed.
Andrew POV
As he was placed gently onto their shared mattress (Neil simply kept finding ways into Andrew's bed... complaining about the cold in the middle of summer, pretend sleepwalking, sneaking in supposedly undetected... it was really quite a problem), Andrew's eyes opened slightly, and he peered at Neil through his pale eyelashes.
As Neil pulled the blanket over the goalkeeper, Andrew felt something. He wasn't sure what it was, but one thing was certain. Andrew wanted Neil to stay. And he planned on doing something about it.
I know, it's not long enough to make up for my idiocy, but it's something. I know I told you lot that I would finish it with this one, but hey! I couldn't resist an ending sentence like that. I have already started writing the next one, maybe I can even get it done in one night! Who knows...
Just kidding, it's like three in the morning, I need to sleep. Just like Andrew haha...
Except I don't have a loving boyfriend. And I'm no boy. Damnit never mind.
As always, I love you all, and a very late Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. See you next time my dear readers! Love you heaps!
