Chapter 80 - Milo's POV
04:29, 9 September 2025Sunday Morning — Quiet Moments Before Filming
The early morning light crept softly through the blinds, casting long, lazy shadows across the room. I lay there for a moment, eyes tracing the patterns the sun made on the ceiling. Around me, the quiet hum of the house was almost meditative—just the sound of soft breathing and the faint rustle of fabric.
Meg was still asleep beside me, her hand resting gently on my chest. I felt the slow, steady beat of her heart under my palm—a rhythm I'd known for years but only now allowed myself to truly notice.
It was strange, the contrast between all the years we'd kept our relationship under wraps and this new reality, where closeness no longer required code or caution. There was a freedom in simply being, in the small touches that once would have been hidden or hurried.
I traced my fingers along the curve of her arm, careful not to wake her. The silence between us was its own language—a conversation of comfort and trust.
The rest of the house was still asleep. Outside, the waves whispered softly against the shore, a steady reminder of the tides and changes that always came with time.
Today was the last full day of filming. Tomorrow, the final scenes. The end of an era. But more than that, it felt like a beginning.
I gently shifted, and Meg stirred, opening her eyes to meet mine. Her smile was slow and soft—no words needed.
"We don't have to hide anymore," I whispered.
"No," she breathed. "Not anymore."
We lay there a moment longer, the world waiting outside the door.
