Dragio [Naruto Fanfic] Chapter 14

~Chapter 14~

“Dragio?! Where the hell did you run off to yesterday?!” Kiba yelled as I got to where him and Hinata were waiting. Shino came up behind me and I nodded to him as I leaned against a tree at the beginning of the forest we were at.

“I had to go save someone’s ass. Didn’t practically want to but it causes problems in the future. No telling if things are going to screw up because of it though.” I muttered the last part to myself and looked over at Kurenai as she came up. She raised an eyebrow at me, probably hearing my explanation so she paid no mind and told us the details of our latest mission. This was going to be just grand.

“I’m gonna kill Sasu-gay one of these days….” I muttered and Cheisu let out a bark. I nodded, looking down at the list of D-Ranks that I had gotten. Apparently, me saving the Cockatoo didn’t matter seeing as he somehow ended up meeting with Itachi and got his ass kicked. That stupid duck-butt….

“I wonder when Naruto’s coming back.” I said off-handily, making Cheisu bark again in agreement as we headed for the first of our D-rank missions.

“Dragio!” I looked up, raising an eyebrow as Shikamaru and his dad, Shikaku, walked up to me.

“Yeah?”

“Have you been promoted to Chunin too?” Shikamaru questioned and I scowled.

“I haven’t gotten word on anything….” I cut off the rest of my response as a sound of a bird chirping was heard overhead. All three of us looked up as I put my arm out and a messenger bird landed on it. I took the note out of the pouch on its back and it flew away. I opened the note, skimming over the writing before gaining a sweat-drop and looking at the Nara father and son duo.

“Well….according to this, I have.” I told them and Shikaku smiled while Shikamaru smirked.

“At least I’m not the only one.” I nodded at his comment and started walking with them after being told that’s where they were heading.

As we headed towards the Ninja Registry room, Shikamaru interrupted what was silence.

“Hey! Isn’t that Naruto….?” I looked ahead of us, smirking at the sight of Pervy Sage, Tsunade, Naruto and Shizune.

“What’re you doin’ here, Naruto?” Shikamaru questioned as both ours and their group came to a stop.

“Me? What are you doin’ here? And with Dragio? Um, all that’s down there is the ninja registry room, right?” Naruto questioned, glancing towards me.

“Actually, things got a little complicated.” Shikamaru said, smirking.

“What d’you mean?” Naruto asked with a question mark above his head.

“I-it’s been a long time. Tsunade. Jiraiya.” Shikaku stepped forward, his head bowed.

“Hey! You’re Nara, all grown up?! And….is that your kid?! Who’s the girl? She doesn’t look like you.” Tsunade then asked, glancing at me.

“Arashi Tori, though I prefer Dragio.” I stated. She nodded, moving on since she didn’t know about everything that’s happened and probably didn’t know about my clan. She then turned her attention to Shikaku again.

“You takin’ care of the deer? Te horns of the deer around there make for good medicine.”

“Yes, Milady.” Shikaku answered.

“Naruto, who’s this bossy little girl?” Shikamaru whispered to Naruto.

“Tsunade is the new Hokage! She’s not a girl! She’s in her fifties!” Naruto whispered back, much to Shikamaru’s shock.

“Well….I’ll be seeing you.” Tsunade said as she, Jiraiya and Shizune walked away.

“Yes, Milady!” Shikaku answered.

“Shikamaru! We’ll catch up, okay?! I’ll show you my awesome new move! See ya!” Naruto called as he quickly followed.

“Naruto! A shinobi doesn’t show off moves!” Jiraiya scolded, bonked Naruto on the head.

“Heh….” Shikaku chuckled as we watched them walk away.

“That lady’s gonna be the fifth Hokage? Who is she?” Shikamaru grumbled.

“Shikamaru. She’s….the most powerful and beautiful woman alive….and the only kunoichi in the three great shinobi of Konoha.”

“Oh man….a girl Hokage? I’m not keen on that. Girls are selfish and loud….,” Shikamaru continued mumbling, forgetting my presence as his father glanced at him warily along with me, “They act all uninterested but they’re all cliquey. I can’t tell whether they’re really friends or note….and they always think they’re in control. Girls are just trouble….”

Shikaku gained a sweat-drop before looking at his son. “Shikamaru….without women, men can’t be born. Without women, men go to ruin. Even the hardest of women….will show a sweet side to the men they love or respect,” He turned away, “You’ll find out soon enough.”

I glanced at Shikamaru, seeing the miffed expression before Shikaku continued, waving over his shoulder as he walked away. “Ooh, I almost forgot! Didn’t you two have something to do? I’m headin’ home. I don’t want your mom yellin’ at me.”

“….” Shikamaru stared after his dad with a ‘seriously?’ look on his face.

“Selfish and loud, eh?” I questioned and Shikamaru jumped before looking at me nervously.

“Ah….I didn’t mean you! Just Sakura and Ino….” He muttered and I laughed, patting his shoulder.

“Whatever. Let’s just go get registered.” He nodded with a sigh of relief and followed me towards the registry room.

“So, what’d you do today while we were training?” Kiba questioned me as Shino, Hinata and Kurenai-sensei sat at the same booth at the BBQ place. I finished a piece of meat, smirking over at him.

“Oh, you know, nothing big. Did some D-ranks, hung out with Shikamaru and Shikaku, became a Chunin, played with Cheisu-”

“Wait, what?!” Kiba exclaimed.

“Hung out with Shikamaru and Shikaku, you know, his dad. I also met the fifth Hokage-”

“No, no! You became a Chunin?!” The Team, except for Kurenai, was gaping at me. I smirked, nodding.

“Yup. Messenger bird told me this morning when I was talking with Shikaku and Shikamaru who was also heading for the Ninja Registry room. So I went with them. By the way, the fifth Hokage, Tsunade, Jiraiya and Naruto are here.” I left out Shizune, not sure if they knew her.

“T-that’s so cool, Dragio-kun!” Hinata stuttered out and I smiled at her.

“Thanks. I didn’t put on my flak jacket yet ‘cause I wanted to surprise you guys. Should I go grab it?” I questioned. They knew it would only take a second with me knowing the Fourth Hokage’s ‘Flying Thunder God’ Technique. Trust me, when I first learned it, the Third Hokage was completely shocked along with anyone else that could remember him and the jutsu that earned him the title ‘Konoha’s Yellow Flash’.

“Nah, we’re staying at your place tonight anyway.” Kiba answered, taking another piece of meat while I sipped at my drink, nodding.

“Is it really that wise for you two to be sleeping together?” Kurenai said….hinting at….Oh. My. Kami.

I coughed on my drink as Kiba’s face turned red. “Sensei!” We both yelled while Shino chuckled and Hinata giggled quietly. Kurenai had a smirk on her face but it was wiped off to be replaced by a blush at my next comment.

“And Asuma? Hm….? What about you two?!”

“T-that is none of your concern! I’m a grown woman!” She defended childishly and we all had a laugh at that.

“Anyway….I’m glad for you, Dragio. You’re definitely strong. I mean, you know tons of advanced jutsu’s before I even became your sensei.” Kurenai told me with a smile as the blush started to recede.

“The Third was….very favorable of me.” I smiled at her and she nodded, understanding. The others looked at me for a moment, a small moment of silence for the old man passing before we went back to more less-depressing topics.

“So, you ready to be bombarded with missions? With the decreased number of shinobi, everyone is gonna be busy.” Kurenai said and I smirked.

“Oh yeah. I wonder if I’ll get any assassination missions. Then I can try out this new jutsu I’ve been working on! It’s really hard though. I’m trying to master my ice and fire talents with this move.” I informed them. Kiba blinked, tilting his head.

“How long have you been working on it? I haven’t seen you trying it out.”

“You know how I always draw?” At his nod, I continued, “Well, it’s more like blueprints on how the attack should work. So, the jutsu is coming along in theory, I just haven’t been able to finish all the schematics before I actually tried it.” He nodded and I picked up the last piece of meat, eating it and looking at my team with a grin.

“So, we’ll see you later, ‘kay?” They all nodded and I grabbed Kiba’s arm, disappearing.

Authors Note

Sorry for the long wait and the short chapter! This was very short and all but, it will get longer! Actually, no it won’t. Why? Because, the next Chapter will probably be the last. Pout TT.TT But do not fear! There will be a sequel! But no, it will not be Shippuden. Why? Because I haven’t even finished the Gaara Arc. It’s sad really v.v anyway, I only have 1-27 of the manga anyway so that’s why this is all…..accurate. I’m going to post the sequel ‘The Demon Within’ (maybe title, still undetermined) that will take place the two and a half year time-frame between pre-Shippuden and Shippuden. The story won’t have a lot of Kiba, since Dragio will be discovering a lot about herself but, the third book (which I can’t wait to write *squeal*) will have….plenty of Kiba and Dragio moments….though, you’ll all be shocked of what couples I’m planning! Mwhahahaha!*Cough* anyway…..I know this story was short but enjoy the next (maybe two) chapter(s)!!!!Peace!­­­~Mew
