Dragio [Naruto Fanfic] Chapter 4
06:39, 26 November 2011~Chapter 4~
Alright. I didn’t know I looked twelve.
I rolled my eyes in the mirror the next morning as I looked myself over. I was in the same outfit as yesterday. Sort of. There was several outfits like the one from yesterday but there was a small difference in each one. This one actually covered my stomach and went down to the belt-scarf wrapped around my waist. Also it had a hood. Oh, and the main color was black with a white diamond instead of the other way around.
I clipped a knife and it’s sheath into each of my boots secretly and then grabbed the bag I had made Cheisu yesterday after asking Kakashi if he could please find a place with leather and a sewing machine and bring me there. At the sewing store I had made a bag that went around Cheisu’s legs comfortably with the straps and the bag was a zipper one that held a plastic bag of dog food, smoke bombs in a secret pocket so if Cheisu pulled a string one would pop out at a time and also a bottle of water.
I whistled and Cheisu jumped off the bed, standing up on his hind paws with his front paws against my leg as I put it on securely. I clipped it under his chest and nodded. With that he went back down to all fours, shaking himself out before nodding him head at me. I pulled on the black beanie I had found yesterday in my bag and also grabbed a medium sized sword with a foot long blade to put in my belt-scarf thing so it made an ‘X’ with the first sword that I am now naming Kōri Ma. Or ‘Ice Demon’ if translated. I’ll probably call it Akuma or just ‘demon’ for short though.
And then I headed out of my new apartment, locking the door and putting the key into the pouch Kakashi had given me that was attached with bandages to my leg the holsters wasn’t on.
“Hello Dragio-kun.” I looked up as Kakashi appeared beside me after five minutes of walking towards the Ninja Academy.
“Hey Kakashi. What’s up?”
“Nothing really. Just waiting until I’m assigned something or Guy-”
“Kakashi!!!!” Someone yelled, interrupting him.
“-annoys me.” Kakashi finished, sweat dropping. We both looked over our shoulders to see Guy running towards us with a dust cold behind him. We then glanced at each other and mutter one word simultaneously:
“Run.”
And with that, he dashed off to the left and I to the right, jumping up onto a roof of a building (I’m still amazed with my strength here) and bounding along roofs until I saw the Academy.
I landed in front of it with a sigh, not having broken a sweat.
Cheisu let out a doggy laugh from where he was laying inside my hood.
“Ready boy?” I questioned. Cheisu let out another bark and I walked towards the school, squashing any nervous feelings.
“Yes, the Hokage told me about you.” Iruka-sensei said. I was here earlier than all the other students who were outside with their friends before the Academy actually started.
I nodded then frowned. “Where do I sit?” I questioned, pointing to the rows of tables.
“The only open seat is next to Inuzuka Kiba. I hope you don’t mind.” He said with a sigh.
“Oh? So Kiba’s not a good boy in school?” I mused.
“Better than Naruto….” He grumbled and I chuckled, shaking my head.
“Oh! And you should study these! The final exam is in three days so you’re timing is really bad.” I blinked, nodding as he handed me about eight scrolls.
“Gotcha. Which seat?”
He pointed to one at the very back (or very top depending on how you look at it) and I went to it. I put the scrolls into a pyramid with two left over. I started with the one that had the number one on it and opened it up, reading quickly. Which surprised me. Considering I didn’t know Japanese. Or is this Chinese? Oh well.
“Hey Iruka-sensei!” I called about two minutes before the class came in. It had been only ten minutes.
“Yes?” He questioned, looking up from some papers. I waved the rolled up scroll number eight.
“Finished.”
“It’s barely been ten minutes!”
“I’m a fast reader.”
“Did you understand it all?”
“Yup. I have a photographic memory. I can memorize anything.” I told him, walking down to him to hand the scrolls back. He looked doubtful.
“Show me a transformation jutsu.” He ordered. Cheisu jumped out of my hood as I stepped back, nodding.
I did the hand sign and with a poof I had turned into Kakashi. Iruka blinked in surprise, going around me. When he nodded I turned back to myself.
“What about a clone?”
I did another few hand signs that I remembered and created flame doppelgangers. I had made these back in the human world quite a lot.
“Wow! That’s amazing! It’s a really advanced technique too! How’d you learn that?” He questioned as I let the clones disappear.
“Back in my world I used them a lot,” I snapped my fingers, a spurt of flame flicking out and I grinned, “It helped all lot.”
He nodded, returning to his podium. “Go ahead and get seated. You’ll already know this lesson I suppose if you really did memorize those.”
I nodded, Cheisu following me back to my seat. He jumped into my lap, snuggling under my shirt and I pulled my hood up over my head as I crossed my arms and buried my face in them.
Students started piling in a second later and I ignored the loud chatter. I heard a few comments about me asking who I was but other than that, I heard nothing except indecipherable mutterings.
“Hey! Who are you! You smell familiar!” I took a sniff, already recognizing Kiba by his voice. I peeked out from the side of my hood to see him standing there in gray pants, a gray jacket with black fuzz on the hood, sleeves and bottom and Akamaru sticking out from the top of it since his hood was up. It covered his unruly brown hair and I stared at the red fang marks that was the Inuzuka Clan symbol.
“You’re stupid.” I muttered, turning my head back to block out the light.
“I am not.” He growled, taking his seat and poking me repeatedly. After about five minutes I turned my head and bit his finger.
“Ow!”
“Stop poking me.” I growled, raising my head and an eyebrow with it. He was sucking on his finger and I let out a snort.
“Shut up.” He growled back.
I noticed that the noise had gotten louder and looked around, not seeing Iruka anywhere.
“Where’d Iruka go?”
“To find that dumbass Naruto.” Kiba answered around his finger and I flicked his cheek with a frown.
“What?”
“Don’t call Naruto a dumbass.” I almost growled. He looked at me with narrowed eyes.
“Why?”
“Because you’ll underestimate him. And that’s where you’ll lose.” I said simply. He looked at me in confusion. Heh. The poor boy didn’t know I was talking about the Chunin Exams.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing, nothing. Just that he has his reasons for being….different.” I watched as Iruka came back with a tied up Naruto and smiled.
Kiba just snorted.
“Ichiraku’s, Ichiraku’s. Ichiraku’s, here I come.” I sung, happy that I found all of my money had turned into Naruto world money. And trust me, I had a lot of money.
I sat down at the counter, nodding to the lady who handed me my bowl when it was done. She also gave me another smaller bowl and I scooped some ramen into it as Cheisu climbed onto my lap. We then both started to eat hungrily.
“Hey! You’re that kid from yesterday!” I looked up to see Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba and Naruto all standing there. Kiba was scowling at me, Shikamaru was looking at the clouds, Naruto was staring at me curiously and Choji was eating as usual.
“Yo.” I waved my chopsticks, ramen still in my mouth as I slurped up the last of the noodles.
“You like Ichiraku’s too?” Naruto asked, sitting next to me and told the waitress for the ‘usual’. He obviously comes here a lot. Oh, what am I saying? He’s obsessed with this place.
“I heard about it so I decided to try it out.” I answered, paying for the food.
“Whoa! You have a lot of money! You must come from a good family!” He complimented but I shrugged.
“Eh. Maybe. Don’t know who they are. Orphan.” I pointed to myself with a smile and stood up, putting Cheisu into my hood. He was so light!
Naruto instantly looked apologetic but I ruffled his head, smiling. “Don’t worry Naruto. I’m used to it.”
“Mm….oh, hey, what’s your name if you know mind?” Naruto questioned.
“Just call me Dragio.”
“That’s a weird name.” Kiba grumbled and I snorted.
“I know, right? It’s just a nickname though. So, whatever.” I rolled my eyes and started walking away.
“Wait! Stay and talk with me!” Naruto called. I waved over my shoulder, not turning back.
“Sorry. Gotta go see the Hokage.”
And with that I rushed off to the….building? What the fuck was it named?!
“Yes, Dragio?” The Hokage questioned as I came in after knocking.
“Is there anywhere that I can learn about….advanced flame jutsu’s?” I questioned.
“Ah. Iruka told me you created flame doppelgangers at the school. Solid ones. So….let’s see….” He leaned back in his chair, looking thoughtful then realization came over his face and he snapped his fingers. A ninja appeared immediately and I raised an eyebrow. Dedicated much?
“Get me the flame jutsu scrolls.” Hokage ordered.
“Right away, Lord Hokage.” The ninja disappeared and a minute later came back with a big scroll in his hands. He set it on the Hokage’s desk and was soon dismissed. The ninja nodded, glanced at me then disappeared.
“Look over this. Iruka told me you memorized eight scrolls in ten minutes so you should be done in half an hour or so.” Hokage said, gesturing to it.
I nodded, grabbing it and sat cross-legged under a window in his office, letting Cheisu nap against my leg.
“Done.” I stated, exactly thirty minutes later. The Hokage looked surprised, checking the time.
“Amazing. I’m a guessing genius. So you’ve really memorized it all?” He questioned as I rolled the scroll up and handed it back.
“Yup! Thanks Old Man. Oh, I mean Hokage.” I chuckled, scratching the back of my neck and he let out a laugh.
“No worries, my dear. And it was no problem. Now I think you may want to be heading home.”
“Gotcha.” With that, I took my leave with a bow and disappeared with Cheisu.
“That was interesting, boy. I mean, did you see all those jutsu?!” I questioned my furry companion who let out a bark.
“I know, it was amazing! No one will be able to stop me now!” I chuckled, dropping down onto the streets and headed in the direction of my apartment.
“Hey Dragio!” I looked to the left to see Kiba and Akamaru running over to us.
“Hey Kiba.” I said, nodding as he started walking with me.
“So, where’ve you been? You like disappeared.”
“Didn’t you hear me say I was going to the Hokage?” He sweat-dropped.
“Crap.”
I chuckled, shaking my head and noticed Akamaru eying me.
“What?”
“*Nothing. Just can’t get over that smell.*” Akamaru answered.
“Ah.” I nodded and stopped, looking up at the apartment complex. Well, not really. It only held like eight apartments. Four on top and four on the bottom. I had one on the top.
“You live here?” Kiba asked and I nodded.
“See you around, doggy.” I ruffled his hair after flicking back his hood and smiled. Then I headed up the stairs tiredly. Today had been a long day.
