Chapter 36 – The Week After the Fight

The buzz from Javon’s fight still hadn’t died down. The media was going crazy over his victory, and everywhere Helen looked, there were clips, interviews, and highlight reels of the knockout.

But for her and Javon, life kept moving.

Monday – Dealing with the Media

Helen woke up to hella notifications on her phone. News outlets had finally caught onto her pregnancy announcement, and social media was blowing up.

Kylie: Girl, the blogs got your whole belly on their front page. Ain’t no going back now.

Danielle: They talking bout y’all like y’all the next celebrity couple or some s**. You seen Twitter yet?*

Helen sighed, rubbing her forehead. She wasn’t surprised, but it was still annoying. She rolled over in bed, grabbing her phone to see the latest headlines:

“Javon King’s Stunning Victory—AND He’s About to Be a Father at 17?”“Helen Mathers’ Pregnancy Shocks Fans—Who’s the Baby’s Father?”“Eminem’s Daughter Pregnant? The Internet Reacts”

Helen groaned and tossed her phone onto the bed. "I hate people."

Javon, still half-asleep, grumbled next to her. “Who we fighting now?”

She rolled her eyes. “The whole f***ing internet.”

Javon sat up, rubbing his face before pulling her into his chest. “F** ‘em. We got bigger s*** to worry about.*”

She sighed against him. “Yeah… I just hate how they talk like I don’t got a name. I’m not just ‘Eminem’s daughter.’”

Javon tilted her chin up, making her look at him. “You Helen. A rapper. My girl. Our baby’s momma. That’s who the f** you are. Don’t let them play with your name.*”

She smiled slightly. “You always know what to say.”

He smirked. “That’s why you love me.”

She rolled her eyes but didn’t argue.

---Got it! Here’s the updated part where Helen and Javon find out they’re having a girl instead of a boy.

Kylie: Girl, the blogs got your whole belly on their front page. Ain’t no going back now.

Danielle: They talking bout y’all like y’all the next celebrity couple or some s**. You seen Twitter yet?*

Helen groaned, already feeling overwhelmed. She turned over in bed, grabbing her phone to see the latest headlines:

Javon pulled her into his arms, resting his chin on her shoulder. “F** ‘em. We got bigger s*** to worry about.*”

She rolled her eyes, but he wasn’t wrong.

Doctor’s Appointment

Helen had another check-up for the baby, and this time, Javon refused to miss it.

He sat next to her, holding her hand as Dr. Ruby did the ultrasound. “The baby is developing well,” she said with a smile. “Would you like to know the gender?”

Helen’s heart stopped.

Javon squeezed her hand. “You wanna know?”

Helen swallowed. “Do you?”

Javon grinned. “Hell yeah.”

Helen took a deep breath and nodded. “Alright. Tell us.”

The doctor smiled and turned the screen toward them. “Congratulations… it’s a girl.”

Helen’s breath hitched. A girl.

Javon leaned forward, his face breaking into a stunned grin. “A girl?”

Helen wiped at her eyes, nodding. “Yeah. A girl.”

Javon exhaled, running a hand over his face before he leaned down and pressed a long, gentle kiss to Helen’s belly. “Lil’ mama, I got you,” he murmured. “Forever.”

Helen bit her lip, watching him. Despite everything—the drama, the chaos—Javon was stepping up. And she had never loved him more.

--- Drama Returns

Just when Helen thought things were settling, David showed up uninvited.

She was chilling at home with Kylie when a knock came at the door.

Kylie peeked out the window and groaned. “Girl… why is David at your fucking door?”

Helen’s stomach twisted. She hadn’t seen him since their last argument.

With an annoyed sigh, she opened the door. “What do you want, David?”

David’s eyes went straight to her stomach. “So it’s true. You’re really pregnant.”

Helen folded her arms. “No shit.”

David scoffed. “And it’s not even Javon’s kid?”

Helen’s jaw clenched. “I already told you what happened.”

David shook her head. “You’re really about to raise another man’s kid with him?”

Before Helen could respond, Kylie lost it. “Boy, if you don’t get the fuck outta here with that bullshit—”

Helen held up a hand, stopping Kylie before she swung on him. Instead, she took a step forward, her voice ice cold. “Listen real fucking close, David. I don’t owe you a damn thing. I don’t owe you an explanation, I don’t owe you my time, and I sure as hell don’t owe you respect when you keep coming at me sideways.”

David scoffed. “I just don’t get how you could be so stupid.”

Helen didn’t think—she just swung.

SMACK!

David stumbled back, holding his face. “Are you fucking serious!?”

Helen glared. “Get the fuck off my porch.”

He cursed under his breath but eventually walked away.

Kylie whistled. “Damn, bitch. You still got that right hook.”

Helen smirked, shaking her hand. “My hand hurts, though.”

Kylie laughed. “Worth it.”

And honestly?

It was.

Chapter 37 – Breaking Point

Helen had been pissed all day. Ever since the drama with David, her emotions had been all over the place. She could barely sleep, her body felt heavy, and the fact that the whole world was talking about her pregnancy only made it worse.

She felt like a bomb ticking down, just waiting for something to set her off.

And unfortunately, that something ended up being Javon.

---

At Javon’s House

Helen sat on Javon’s bed, scrolling through her phone, her mood getting worse by the second. The comments were brutal.

> “Why is she even keeping the baby? That’s embarrassing.”“Eminem must be so disappointed.”“Javon raising another man’s kid? He a fool.”

Her grip tightened around her phone, and before she knew it, she threw it across the room.

Javon flinched as it hit the wall. “Yo, what the fuck?”

Helen shot up. “I hate this shit, Javon! I hate how people talk about me like I’m some joke! Like my whole life is just entertainment for them!”

Javon sighed, rubbing his hands over his face. “Baby, I told you, stop looking at that shit.”

“That’s easy for you to say!” Helen snapped, her voice sharp. “You’re not the one carrying this baby! You’re not the one getting dragged for something you didn’t even fucking choose!”

Javon frowned, sitting up straighter. “Hold on, what the fuck does that mean?”

Helen let out a bitter laugh. “It means I’m the one whose life is ruined! You still get to fight, still get to live like normal. Meanwhile, I got people looking at me like I’m some stupid little girl who got herself in this situation.”

Javon’s face hardened. “You really think I don’t give a fuck about this? That I don’t care about you?”

Helen folded her arms. “You don’t get it, Javon! You never will!”

Javon stood up, frustration clear in his voice. “Man, that’s some bullshit! I’ve been here every fucking step of the way! I ain’t ever once left you to deal with this alone!”

Helen’s blood was boiling. “Oh, so I’m supposed to just be grateful that you stayed? That’s the bare fucking minimum!”

Javon’s jaw clenched, his hands balled into fists at his sides. “You acting like I ain’t give up shit too. Like I ain’t changed my whole fucking life to step up for you and this baby.”

Helen felt tears sting her eyes, but her anger overpowered everything. “I never asked you to!”

Silence.

Javon stared at her, his expression unreadable.

Helen’s chest was rising and falling rapidly, her breathing shaky. She knew she was being unfair, but she was too mad to stop.

Javon shook his head slowly. “Wow. That’s how you really feel?”

Helen clenched her jaw. “I need to get out of here.”

Javon scoffed. “Of course you do.”

She grabbed her bag and stormed toward the door.

“Go ahead, run away,” Javon called after her. “That’s what you always do, right?”

Helen froze for a second—then she turned, glaring at him through her tears.

“Fuck you, Javon.”

Then she walked out, slamming the door behind her.

Chapter 38 – Tension at Dinner

Helen really didn’t want to see Javon tonight.

But her dad had planned this dinner for her friends, and unfortunately, that meant Javon was invited too. She hadn’t spoken to him since their argument, and the last thing she wanted was to pretend everything was fine in front of everybody.

Right now, it was just her, Ariana, and Danielle in the kitchen while the others were still on their way. Of course, they were being messy as hell.

Danielle smirked, stirring her drink. “So… you really not talking to Javon?”

Ariana leaned on the counter, watching Helen closely. “Girl, you ain’t even text him back once?”

Helen rolled her eyes, aggressively chopping vegetables. “No. And I don’t fucking want to.”

Danielle raised an eyebrow. “Damn, it’s that serious?”

Helen huffed. “I don’t wanna talk about it.”

Ariana and Danielle exchanged looks before Ariana smirked. “Well… that’s too fucking bad ‘cause he just pulled up.”

Helen’s body tensed.

And then—like clockwork—Javon walked into the kitchen.

The energy shifted immediately.

Danielle grabbed her drink, whispering to Ariana, “Oh, this about to be good.”

Javon’s jaw was tight, his hands in his pockets. “Can we talk?”

Helen didn’t even look at him. “No.”

Javon exhaled sharply. “Helen, come on.”

She finally turned, crossing her arms. “You seriously came here thinking we’d just be cool?”

Danielle took a sip of her drink, whispering, “She mad mad.”

Ariana snorted, whispering back, “Oop, this some reality TV shit.”

Javon ignored them, stepping closer to Helen. “You walked out on me, remember? And now you acting like I’m the bad guy?”

Helen let out a dry laugh. “Oh, you wanna talk about what I did? What about the shit you said?”

Boiling Point

Javon barely made it to the door before Helen snapped.

“You know what? Fuck that!*” she shouted, spinning around.

Javon froze, his hand gripping the doorframe.

“You wanna act like you’re the only one hurt? Like I’m just some heartless bitch who doesn’t care? Are you serious right now?!” Her voice was shaking with anger.

Danielle and Ariana immediately backed up, their eyes wide.

“Oh, shit,” Ariana mumbled.

“Yup, she’s heated,” Danielle whispered.

Javon turned back around, his jaw clenched. “Helen, I never said you didn’t care.”

Helen stormed up to him, shoving his chest. “But that’s exactly how you’re acting! Like I’m just pushing you away for no fucking reason!”

Javon gritted his teeth. “Ain’t that exactly what you’re doing?”

Helen lost it.

“You do not get to stand here and act like you’ve been fing perfect!” she screamed, pointing at him. “Like you haven’t said s that hurt me too!”

Javon shook his head. “You always do this. Always turn it into a fucking screaming match instead of just talking to me.”

Helen laughed—a bitter, angry sound. “Oh, I’m sorry, do you want me to fucking whisper? Should I just sit there and nod my head like a dumbass while you talk to me like I’m the problem?!”

Javon’s fists clenched at his sides. “I never fucking said that.”

Danielle nudged Ariana. “Girl, why do I feel like we shouldn’t be here?”

Ariana whispered back, “Nah, we need to be here. This shit is good.”

Helen took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but her hands were shaking. “Javon, I love you, but I’m so fucking tired of feeling like I have to fight you and the world at the same time.”

Javon’s face softened for a second—but only for a second. “Then let me help you, Helen. Stop treating me like I’m the fucking enemy.”

Helen scoffed. “And stop treating me like I’m fucking crazy!”

Javon exhaled sharply, running a hand down his face. “You know what? Fuck this.”

He turned to leave again.

Helen snapped.

“Oh, so that’s it?! That’s what you do now? You just fucking walk away when shit gets hard?!”

Javon turned back, his voice cold. “Ain’t that what you did?”

Silence.

Ariana whistled lowly. “Oop.”

Danielle shook her head. “This shit is crazy.”

Helen’s breathing was uneven, her chest rising and falling fast. She felt hot, like her whole body was on fire from the inside.

Javon just stood there, staring at her.

Neither of them spoke.

Then, finally, Helen clenched her jaw and whispered, “Get the fuck out.”

Javon’s expression didn’t change.

Without another word, he turned and walked out the door.

The second he was gone, Helen’s hands slammed against the counter, gripping it so hard her knuckles turned white.

Ariana and Danielle immediately started whispering.

“So… are y’all over?” Ariana asked cautiously.

Danielle raised an eyebrow. “Or is this one of those toxic but they still love each other fights?”

Helen didn’t answer.

She just stood there, breathing heavy, trying to ignore the way her chest ached.

---

Silence Speaks Louder

Dinner was awkward as fuck.

Helen sat at the long dining table, completely silent. Her plate was full, her fork barely scraping against the food.

Her friends, usually loud and messy, were cautious tonight. Even Ariana and Danielle, who were always instigating, kept their conversations light.

Jayla, Javon’s older sister, sat across from Helen, watching her carefully.

Kylee cleared her throat. “Sooo… this food is amazing. Mr. Mathers, you really snapped.”

Helen’s dad, Marshall, just nodded. “Thanks.” He glanced at Helen, noticing how quiet she was, but didn’t push it.

Jayla took a sip of her drink before speaking. “So… where’s Javon?”

The table got real quiet.

Danielle looked down at her plate. Ariana immediately took a bite of her food like she wasn’t about to get in the middle of that conversation.

Helen didn’t even flinch. She just kept poking at her food.

Jayla’s eyes narrowed. “Helen?”

Helen finally looked up, her expression blank. “I don’t know.”

Jayla raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know?”

Helen sighed, putting her fork down. “Jayla, just drop it.”

Jayla scoffed. “Nah, because my brother showed up all excited for this dinner, and then y’all had a fight in the kitchen, and now he’s gone and you’re sitting here acting like a fucking statue.”

Danielle whispered to Ariana, “Why is this so entertaining?”

Ariana whispered back, “Because Helen is never this quiet.”

Jayla leaned forward. “What the fuck happened?”

Helen clenched her jaw. “Nothing.”

Jayla rolled her eyes. “Bullshit.”

Helen’s grip on her fork tightened. She could feel everyone looking at her, waiting for her to say something.

Instead, she pushed her chair back and stood up.

“I’m not hungry,” she muttered, grabbing her plate and walking toward the kitchen.

Jayla sighed, shaking her head. “This is some dramatic-ass shit.”

Danielle looked at Ariana. “Wanna go check on her?”

Ariana shrugged. “Nah, let her have her moment.”

Jayla crossed her arms. “I don’t know what happened, but if my brother doesn’t come back tonight, we’re gonna have a problem.”

The tension stayed thick in the air as Helen disappeared into the kitchen, her back turned on the people who knew her best.

Clocked & Confronted

Helen heard Jayla’s little comment from the kitchen, and her blood boiled instantly.

She stormed back into the dining room, arms crossed, her glare deadly.

“Who the fuck are you talking to?” Helen snapped, eyes locked on Jayla.

Jayla smirked, leaning back in her chair. “I’m talking to you, obviously.”

The table got real quiet.

Kylee and Jayla’s cousin, Malachi, exchanged looks. Ariana leaned in like she was watching a movie.

Helen raised an eyebrow. “Oh, so now you wanna act tough? But you wasn’t acting tough when you was sneaking around with—” She stopped, tilting her head. “Actually, nah, let me shut the fuck up.”

Jayla froze.

Danielle’s eyes went wide. “Oh shit.”

Ariana gasped dramatically. “Wait, is she talking about—”

Jayla stood up fast, knocking her chair back. “What the fuck did you just say?”

Helen smirked, crossing her arms. “You heard me. You out here worried about me and Javon, but you need to be worried about your own damn secrets.”

Jayla’s nostrils flared. “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”

Helen laughed dryly. “Oh, I don’t? You sure about that?”

Jayla stepped closer. “Say it then, since you got so much fu cking mouth.”

Danielle whispered, “This about to be a fight.”

Ariana nudged her. “Shut up, I’m tryna hear.”

Helen leaned in, lowering her voice just enough for Jayla to hear. “How about we talk about how you was fucking around with—”

Jayla shoved her.

Helen snapped.

She lunged, pushing Jayla back hard enough to make her stumble. The table shook as everyone jumped up.

“YO! CHILL!” Malachi shouted, stepping in between them.

“Man, what the fuck?!” Walker yelled.

Jayla’s eyes burned with rage. “Bitch, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”

Helen scoffed, wiping her hands. “Oh, I do, but since you so pressed, let’s just leave it at that.” She turned toward the table, her chest heaving with anger.

Then she looked directly at Jayla.

“You know what? Fuck your brother. And fuck this dinner.*”

The room went silent.

Jayla’s jaw dropped.

Danielle spit out her drink. “OH S***.”

Ariana slapped the table. “SHE SAID F*** THE WHOLE FAMILY, BRO.”

Kylee covered her mouth. “Ain’t no way she just said that.”

Marshall stood up, rubbing his face like he was so tired of this drama. “Alright, that’s enough—”

But Helen was done.

She stormed toward the stairs, leaving behind the mess, the arguments, and the people who suddenly had so much to say about her life.
